    Aptive is seeking a full-time Media Analyst with demonstrated experience in media monitoring and financial reporting to compile a daily media brief for delivery to a federal agency for distribution to leadership and national, regional, and local employees.

    The ideal candidate thrives in a deadline-driven environment, has working familiarity with Meltwater or another media monitoring platform, and experience drafting news clips and executive summaries with little to no need for edits/proofreading. Beyond this daily deliverable, we are looking for someone who is responsible, independent, and ready to grow into new opportunities as part of Aptive's media analytics team.

    This entry/mid-level, full-time, contingent hire position is a remote opportunity. Fixed core hours are 4:00 am –9:00 am eastern, Monday – Friday except federal holidays. This unique schedule enables morning delivery of a high-quality product on a daily basis to senior government officials.

    MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS.

    • 2 years of research and financial reporting experience or writing and/or editorial experience with a business/finance educational background.
    • Exceptional writing and editing skills and attention to detail in providing error-free deliverables.
    • Bachelor's degree.
    • Legal authorization to work in the U.S.
    • Ability to obtain and maintain a public trust clearance.
    • Eager to learn and develop new skills and take on responsibility.
    • Experience in planning, collection, and organizing information required for reports, studies and proposed managerial or organization documents including developmental, consultative or implementation efforts.

    JOB DUTIES.

    • Conduct analysis of media and news coverage, highlighting trends and impacts relevant to specific federal agencies.
    • Perform searches of media and news coverage, identifying new search terms and adjusting as necessary based on client requests and emerging areas of interest.
    • Draft, edit and deliver digital daily briefing of print, online, and broadcast (radio/tv) news content of interest to federal agency leadership and employees, ensuring appropriate categorization of information in alignment with client priorities.
    • Manage media collection and perform quality control as needed.

    DESIRED SKILLS

    • Experience using Meltwater or other media monitoring tool to collect and manually organize information for daily news briefs for a federal agency.
    • Excellent research skills, including familiarity with Boolean logic to construct complicated search strings.
    • Experience identifying coverage trends and writing headline-driven executive summaries.
    • Ability to quickly gain subject matter expertise and get up to speed rapidly on complex financial and regulatory issues facing our federal client.
    • Capable self-starter with high level of attention to detail in a fast-paced setting.
    • Excellent ability to communicate across most mediums and settings, including with client leadership.
