    Aptive Resources is seeking a communications consultant with a strong background in public relations, community engagement, outreach and strategic communications. The consultant will support a project with the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services that provides health care quality improvement services involving support of the national data-driven initiatives to optimize health outcomes for persons and families while supporting clinicians, providers, and communities in improving health and health care of the population they serve. 

    The consultant will help develop, execute, and evaluate fully integrated communications plans and outreach efforts, coordinate with media, support local community engagement efforts, provide meeting and event support and assist with an integrated learning network. The consultant corresponds with staff, clients, partners, and other stakeholders to keep them informed and engaged. He or she will work with both strategic and tactical elements of communications.  

    The consultant should possess strong writing, communication, presentation and organizational skills as well as strong attention to detail. The ideal candidate should be a self-starter, proactive problem solver, and action-oriented team player with previous experience in management consulting, preferably for federal health clients. They must also be committed to providing superior service, poised under fast-paced pressure, and have a positive and flexible attitude. In this role, they will: Public Relations

    • Build relationships and contacts with relevant stakeholders.
    • Identify stories, undertake proactive media and community engagement, write press releases, arrange interviews, prepare social language and support materials, and pitch feature articles.

    Marketing and Collateral

    • Assist in development and deployment of marketing materials.

    • Maintain partner communications to keep stakeholders informed.

    • Conduct analytical projects to improve partner relationships.

    • Help coordinate development of print/web materials and ensure adherence to branding strategies, including presentations, brochures, data, images, proposals and reports.

    Communications Plan Development and Management

    • Support the planning, content development, and execution of communications strategies and tactical plans.   

    • Partner with a variety of client and partner stakeholders regarding communications decision making and initiatives.

    • Generate creative campaign concepts and content for online and print products to support internal and external communications initiatives.

    • Support the development of a robust content marketing strategy that drives deeper engagement among target stakeholders with brands.

    • Assist with the management of project schedules to ensure that deadlines are met, and provide weekly updates to senior management as appropriate.

    • Ensure consistent organizational positioning throughout all communications materials.

    DESIRED SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE.

    • Experience in a consulting role; experience with federal government or health care clients (particularly the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services) is a plus.
    • Demonstrated track record executing communications strategies.
    • Bachelor's degree and at least 4 years of experience in a marketing or communications-related role.
    • MS Office proficiency (Word, PowerPoint, Outlook, and Excel).
    • Knowledge of various programs is helpful, including: Cision, MailChimp, Meltwater and/or Google Analytics.
    • Proficiency in 508 compliance.
    • Experience with video, multimedia, and/or social media.

    ABOUT THE CLIENT. This is a contingent-hire, full-time role supporting the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services Network of Quality Improvement and Innovation Contractors.
