    Aptive Resources is seeking a Web Content Specialist with demonstrated experience developing websites based on strategic, technical, aesthetic and functional criteria provided by large clients. This mid-level, full-time position is located at the General Services Administration (GSA) in Washington, DC. This is a contingent hire position. In this role, you will improve the usefulness of both an external and internal website, enabling stakeholders to more quickly get answers to questions and complete tasks. You will work with subject matter experts and content creators to review, consolidate, reorganize and rewrite content for approximately 20-24 pages each week. Candidates with “create once, publish everywhere” and “mobile first” mindsets are strongly encouraged to apply. MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS.

    • 1 to 2 years of experience.
    • Bachelor's degree in a related field of study.
    • Ability to work onsite in Washington, DC.
    • Ability to obtain and maintain a public trust clearance.
    • U.S. citizenship.

    SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITIES.

    • Ensure consistency and a professional look for all web content, supporting compliance with all client web standards, ensuring alignment with client's web goals and using all appropriate digital communication tools.
    • Provide web content management support. This includes updating content as requested by page owners, checking links, adding and deleting files, updating expiring pages, resolving broken links and analyzing web analytics.
    • Draft new content or provide coordinated edits to multiple pages within specific topics of content.
    • Assist in the development and implementation of content on websites.
    • Produce graphic sketches, designs and copy layouts for online content.
    • Determine size and arrangement of illustrative material and copy, selects style and size of type, and arrange layout based upon available space, knowledge of layout principles and aesthetic design concepts.

    NECESSARY SKILL SETS.

    • Ability to use user research and data analysis to produce content that is written in plain language, audience-specific, task-focused and provides intuitive paths.
    • Familiarity with basic content management practices and experience using web content management systems.
    • Ability to get up to speed quickly on complex issues; desire to work in a fast-paced, rapidly evolving environment.
    • Capable self-starter with a drive to get all types of work done and high attention to detail.
    • Outstanding written and verbal communications skills.
    • Knowledge of military and Veteran populations.
