    Aptive Resources is seeking a Senior Marketing and Communications Specialist with a strong background in writing and strategic communications to support the Department of Veterans Affairs.  The ideal candidate is a strong writer. They are a self-starter, proactive problem solver and action-oriented team player with previous experience in management consulting, preferably for federal health clients. They are committed to providing superior service, poised under fast-paced pressure and have a positive and flexible attitude. They will lead cost-effective communication and marketing programs assessments across a variety of platforms, and they will ensure themes, messages and desired outcomes are consistent across media channels.

    MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS.

    • 7 to 10 years of relevant experience in health care communications and/or writing and editing.
    • Bachelor's degree in a related program, such as mass communications, marketing, advertising, public relations or journalism.
    • Consultant experience supporting large, complex Cabinet-level federal agencies.
    • Ability to obtain and maintain a public trust clearance.
    • Availability to work full time in Washington, D.C.

    IDEAL SKILL SETS.

    • PMP preferred.
    • Strong proficiency in Microsoft 365, including Outlook, Word, Excel and PowerPoint.
    • Ability to get up to speed quickly on complex issues; desire to work in a fast-paced, rapidly evolving environment.
    • Detail-oriented, analytical multitasker; capable self-starter with a drive to get all types of work done.
    • Outstanding written and verbal communications skills.
    • Knowledge of military and Veteran populations.
