    Aptive Resources is seeking a Business Process Engineer with demonstrated experience in a healthcare supply chain and logistics environment. The Business Process Engineer uses analytical and quantitative methods to enhance and improve supply chain logistics processes, systems and effectiveness by assembling related data, analyzing performance, and identifying problems. The BPE interacts with customer departments to gather appropriate data, conduct analysis to identify and define problems and targets of opportunity for improvement as a result of data extraction from the SCIS. The BPE supports customer service and quality improvement initiatives and supply chain informatics within the current and future healthcare supply chain information systems. This mid-level, full-time position is located at the Aptive office in Alexandria, VA with regular travel to the client site in Washington, D.C. This is an immediate hire position.

    MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS.

    • 3-5 years of experience with Clinically Driven Strategic Sourcing (CDSS) process, preferably within the healthcare community.
    • BA/BS Required; MA/MS/MBA Preferred
    • Ability to work full time in Alexandria, VA or Washington, D.C.
    • Knowledge or credentials with LSS and/or ISO 9000/9001
    • Knowledge or experience with Defense Medical Logistics Standard Support (DMLSS), Cerner, Prosthetics, Financial Management Business Transformation (FMBT), Department of Defense (DoD) Abi, and LogiCole, feasibility studies for introducing new data tools, market research, and Gartner evaluations.

    SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITIES.

    • Employ quality management systems, tools, and techniques to help organizations transform, including, but not limited to Lean Six Sigma (LSS), ISO 9000/9001, and the Malcom Baldrige Quality Award criteria.
    • Analyze existing and to-be technical systems, conducts Analysis of Alternatives and make recommendations on specific technical solutions
    • Perform analysis, design, development, and implementation of diverse, enterprise-wide processes and application systems within the healthcare supply chain community.
    • Design study process; conducting studies in support of system design and business process re-engineering, improvement and management.
    • Develop implementation plans, and supporting the process of implementing and sustaining improvements.
    • Support Data Governance with Data Model Plans and Data Models.
    • Support legacy systems mapping to new applications to existing metrics, data interfacing/integration to support metrics, new tool analysis, data tool migration, process mapping for existing applications and metrics, business process flows.
    • Support the operations of Clinically driven Strategic Sourcing (CDSS) with emphasis on hospital production/operations management through an array of concepts and methods to maximize an organization's efficiency.
    • Perform tasks which require knowledge of Six Sigma philosophies and principles, including supporting systems and tools; an understanding of team dynamics and how to assign team member roles and responsibilities based on a thorough understanding of all aspects of the Define, Measure, Analyze, Improve, and Control (DMAIC) model in accordance with Six Sigma principles.

    NECESSARY SKILL SETS.

    • Supply chain / logistics experience in a healthcare environment
    • Ability to get up to speed quickly on complex issues; desire to work in a fast-paced, rapidly evolving environment.
    • Outstanding written and verbal communications skills.
    • Analytical skills with ability to define, collect, and analyze data, establish facts, draw valid conclusions, and make logical decisions.
    • Adept at analyzing and prioritizing IT systems requirements for implementation.
