Aquaprole LLC, a progressive international Food Import/Export and Distribution Company located in Toronto is seeking an ambitious individual to work in its Trading Department in Toronto office. The ideal candidate should be an ambitious, self-starter willing to learn all aspects of the International Food Trading Business and willing to take initiative to grow with the company. Assistant trader position will lead to Commodity Trader job opportunity within a couple of years.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Coordinate export and import commodity shipment according to domestic and export country requirements
• Take and follow instruction from traders on daily basis
• Daily communication with logistics companies, ocean freight couriers, tracking companies, cold storages, government agencies, suppliers, and customers.
• Inventory management with Canadian and US cold storages
• Export documentation management and preparation in a timely manner
• Data filing and management for auditing purpose
• Data entry in Enterprise Resource Planning Software on daily basis
• Rate negotiation with Shipping Lines, Freight Forwarders, and other service suppliers
• Review of supplier’s invoices and submission for payment
• Submission of export declarations, marine insurances, shipping instructions
• Obtaining documents from suppliers with careful review in accordance with instructions
• Sending drafts documents for approval to customers
• Claims handling and submission for resolution
• Performs other duties as required.

QUALIFICATIONS:

• Post Secondary Education in Logistics, Transportation Management or equivalent preferred.
• Previous transportation experience and enterprise resource planning software knowledge preferred.
• Recent graduates with a university degree/college diploma are welcome to apply.
• Bachelor degree preferred

SKILLS:

• Excellent organizational and interpersonal skills are required.
• Ability to handle multiple duties and projects in a fast-paced environment.
• Microsoft Office Applications with focus on Excel and Word programs.
• Exceptional customer service and telephone speaking skills required.
• Excellent business writing skills required.
• Excellent communication skills in ENGLISH / SPANISH REQUIRED Proficiency in other languages such as Portuguese, Vietnamese, Filipino, Mandarin Chinese is an asset.
