A leading wholesale fashion accessory company based in St. Louis, MO, is seeking a highly organized and motivated Credit/Collections Specialist. The credit department is one of the most important teams in the company. The overall responsibility of the Credit Department is to establish and enforce sound policies and procedures to protect company assists. The ideal candidate will have experience with large customers/companies, knowledge of EDI and Epicor systems. Ideal candidate must be an excellent communicator with strong ability to solve problems and resolve issues. Qualifications: * 3-5 years Accounts Receivable/Credit/Collections and general accounting experience * High level of proficiency in Excel, Word and Outlook * Knowledge of Epicor Software * Must possess strong planning, organizational and execution skills. * Experience working with all types of retailers - boutiques, regional stores, department store chains and mass merchants is a plus. * Experience with coding payables and posting payments. * Professional with a positive attitude Essential functions: * Responsible for an Accounts Receivable portfolio of $50M+ * Promote and maintain excellent cross-department relationships between Finance, Sales, and Customer Service to maximize efficiency and effectiveness of credit function. * Directs the granting of credit and collection of receivables. Exercises prudent judgment and control to attain maximum sales while protecting the company's assets. This entails the minimizing of bad debt losses while acknowledging the necessity for taking on reasonable risk. * Recommends corporate credit policies to senior management and establishes general policies, procedures and practices governing overall credit operations.
