    About the Role:

    Aquila is seeking a DevSecOps Engineer to join our team in supporting one of the country’s premier defense research organizations. One area of significant focus for the group is the application of modern software engineering principles and commercial best practices to define and prototype open architecture solutions, that provide mission-critical capabilities to the warfighter. This combination of approaches enables the flexible composition of sensors, processors, ground stations, and command centers. This work feeds into open architecture standards which ensure seamless information transfer between system components and subsystem-level upgradability. We succeed by participating in all phases of the program, including problem analysis and innovative solution design, system architecture, rapid prototyping and field-testing, and ultimately transfer of our technology. 

    There are a few requirements for the position:

    • Must be a U.S Citizen (Green Cards / Visas do not qualify)
    • Willingness to undergo a comprehensive background investigation and maintain a personal security clearance. (Aquila would sponsor you for the security clearance.)
    • Reside within 100 miles of Lexington, Massachusetts.

    What You'll Do:

    We are in need of a DevSecOps Specialist who will support the modification and sustainment of a DevSecOps pipeline and deployment of software to on-premise and commercial cloud environments. This DevSecOps pipeline supports many software development efforts in the group.

    What You’ll Bring:

    • Bachelor's Degree
    • 3 years of GIT/GITHUB
    • 3 years of Scripting Languages: Perl, Python, Shell Scripting, Powershell.
    • 3 years of Experience leveraging third-party Cloud Service Providers (IaaS, PaaS, SaaS)
    • 3 years of Containerization (Docker, Podman, etc.)
    • 3 years of Familiarity with JIRA / Confluence
    • 3 years of GitLab
    • 3 years of Configuring and Maintaining several Linux Systems Utilizing Scripting Languages and Automation Tools
    • 3 years of Containers & Orchestration (OpenShift, Docker, Kubernetes)
    • 3 years of Experience in continuous integration
    • 3 years of Experience supporting common open-source application stacks (web services, big data, etc.)
    • 3 years of Experience with DevOps workflows and common CI/CD tools
    • 3 years of Install, configuration, support primarily RHEL virtualization platforms
    • 3 years of Linux Environment
    • 3 years of Redhat Linux Systems Administration

    Working Knowledge of the Following:

    • Experience with DevOps workflows and common CI/CD tools (Jenkins, Bamboo, Unit testing frameworks, Artifactory, Maven, etc.)
    • Experience with Git, Git workflows, and common Git server products such as BitBucket, GitHub, GitLab, etc.
    • Experience supporting common open-source application stacks (web services, big data, etc.)
    • Proficiency in writing scripts for maintenance and automation in a variety of languages (e.g. Bash, Python).
    • Experience with common configuration management tools (Ansible, Terraform, etc.)
    • Familiarity with JIRA / Confluence
    • Linux and Vsphere system administration
    • Install, configure, and support primarily RHEL virtualization platforms
    • Experience with container technology (Docker, Podman, etc.)
    • Strong knowledge of automating deployment, scaling, and management of containerized applications ideally with hands-on experience with Kubernetes, etc.
    • Experience leveraging third-party Cloud Service Providers (IaaS, PaaS, SaaS)
    • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
    • Bachelors and 5 years of directly related experience

    And These Skills are a Bonus:

    • Experience with VMWare VM management, AWS, Azure
    • Hands-on experience as a Linux administrator (RHEL 7 Linux)
    • Proficiency in a current programming language such as Java or Python
    • Proficiency in managing Big Data software stacks and architectures (Hortonworks HDP, HDF, Spark, Hadoop, Kafka, ElasticSearch, Redis, NiFi. Ambari)
    • Strong understanding of web application architecture for high-performing and scalable applications.
    • STIG CyberSecurity Methodologies
    • Knowledge of IP Networking including VPC's, VPN's, VRF, DNS, load-balancing, and firewalls.
    • Certifications:
    • AWS Certified Solutions Architect – Associate
    • AWS Certified Developer – Associate
    • Redhat Certified System Administrator
    • Certified Kubernetes Administrator
    • CompTIA’s Security +
    • ISC2 Certified Information Systems Security Professional

    Work Schedule: This position is hybrid - The individual works from home or off-site for a portion of their schedule and within a routinely commutable distance from the Lexington facility. Must be within a commutable distance from Lexington, MA.

    Clearance: Candidates must possess an active Top Secret clearance to be considered for this position.
