    About the Role:

    Aquila is seeking a Systems Administrator to join our team in supporting one of the country’s premier defense research organizations. The team is responsible for desktop and server infrastructure. These services include support for facility-managed operating systems, enterprise backup, software distribution, and application offerings. The team also manages the facility’s central directory and authentication systems, as well as email, mobile, and desktop web conferencing solutions.

    There are a few requirements for the position:

    • Must be a U.S Citizen (Green Cards / Visas do not qualify)
    • Willingness to undergo a comprehensive background investigation and maintain a personal security clearance. (Aquila would sponsor you for the security clearance.)
    • Must be within 100 miles of Lexington, Massachusetts.

    What You'll Bring:

    • Currently holds a Secret Clearance (OR a higher clearance)
    • 5 years of VMware core components (storage and networking)
    • 5 years of VMware Horizon Client Configuration Dell (Thin Clients, ThinOS, and/or Dell Wyse Management Suite)
    • 5 years of Network Experience (e.g. routing, switching, and TCP/IP protocol)
    • 5 years of Scripting Languages: Perl, Python, Shell Scripting, Powershell.
    • 5 years of VMware Administration (ESX, ESXi/vSphere, vCenter, vMotion, DRS, etc.)
    • 5 years of Active Directory Administration and GPOs

    Working Knowledge of the Following:

    • Demonstrated expertise with the VMware Horizon View environment including Connection Servers, Desktop Pools, vCenter, and thin/zero clients, including but not limited to:
      \- Using VMware's Dynamic Environment Manager (DEM) for user profile management--- - Using App Volumes to Virtualize Applications
      \- knowledge of ESX cluster running on a Cisco HX HCI cluster
      \- Expert ability to install, configure, optimize, and maintain VMware Horizon View
    • Experience configuring the VMware Horizon Client, Dell Thin Clients, ThinOS, and/or Dell Wyse Management Suite
    • Expert hands-on administration experience with VMware tools including ESX, ESXi/vSphere, vCenter, vMotion, DRS, and other virtualization technologies and concepts.
    • The ability to work with vendors (VMware, Cisco, Dell) to set expectations, address issues, and resolve them in a timely manner.
    • Possesses a deep understanding of VMware core components and their relation to storage and networking, and is proficient in data center design methodologies.]
    • Strong fundamental knowledge with Active Directory Administration, GPOs
    • Strong overall network skills (e.g. routing, switching, and TCP/IP protocol)
    • Strong scripting experience as well as experience with task automation (Powershell)
    • Strong foundational skills in organizing and managing technical projects
    • Ability to work independently toward delivery of goals as well as collaborate in team efforts
    • Demonstrate the ability to learn new technologies and disciplines quickly
    • Ability to document processes and procedures.
    • Ability to coordinate efforts with other technology teams including Desktop Engineering, Networking, and Client Services.
    • Excellent customer service skills and exceptional customer-facing skills are required
    • Excellent communication and organizational skills

    And These Skills are a Bonus:

    • VMWare Certifications
    • Experience with VDI Assessment Tools such as Liquidware Stratusphere
    • Desktop as a Service experience
    • Application virtualization

    Location: Lexington, MA

    Work Schedule: This position is VIRTUAL. The candidate can work remotely but they MUST live within 100 miles of Lexington so that they can come into the Lab if necessary for the needs of the program. The onsite work will NOT be regular.

    Clearance: Candidates should have an active clearance (secret/top secret, etc.) in order to be considered for this position due to the nature of the work being done.
