    About the Role:

    Aquila is seeking a Financial Policy Analyst to join our team in supporting one of the country’s premier defense research organizations. Aquila is seeking an experienced Financial Policy Analyst is to provide Finance, Travel, and Property services where and when it matters most to support world-class research and development by the organization. 

    There are a few requirements for the position:

    • Must be a U.S Citizen (Green Cards / Visas do not qualify)
    • Willingness to undergo a comprehensive background investigation and maintain a personal security clearance. (Aquila would sponsor you for the security clearance.)
    • Must be within commutable distance of Lexington, Massachusetts.

    Responsibilities:
    • Develop and update financial policies, procedures, and guidelines.
    • Establish and maintain communication channels with stakeholders.
    • Review existing and proposed policies with stakeholders.
    • Promote awareness of financial policies and strategies as appropriate among management and ensure sound principles are reflected in the organization's mission, vision, and goals.
    • Interpret and apply applicable laws, statutes, and regulatory documents and integrate into policy.
    • Assess policy needs and collaborate with stakeholders to develop policies surrounding financial activities..
    • Draft and publish financial policies.
    • Seek consensus on proposed policy changes from stakeholders, as appropriate.
    • Provide policy guidance to financial management, staff, and users.
    • Review, conduct, or participate in audits of current and new financial policies and procedures.
    • Support the Financial management team in the formulation of financial-related policies.
    • Write instructional materials (e.g., standard operating procedures, production manual) to provide detailed guidance to relevant portion of the workforce.

    What You'll Bring:

    • 5 years Delivering training content to stakeholders/users
    • 5 years Identify potential compliance issues and recommend policy/procedure changes
    • 5 years Experience preparing functional and supecific support plans to support policy changes/enhancements
    • 5 years Provide policy guidance
    • 5 years Review, analyze, and socialize existing and/or proposed policies
    • Strong Verbal and Written Communication
    • 5 years Content Writing
    • 5 years Develop policy, programs, and guidelines for implementation.

    Working Knowledge of the Following:

    • BS degree with minimum of 5 years of experience or a minimum of (10) years of professional work experience in writing documents related to policy and procedures.
    • Skilled in administrative planning activities, to include preparation of functional and specific support plans, preparing and managing correspondence.
    • Ability to develop policy, plans, and strategy in compliance with laws, regulations, policies, and standards.
    • Ability to leverage best practices and lessons learned of external organizations and academic institutions
    • Demonstrable experience communicating complex information, concepts, or ideas in a confident and well-organized manner through verbal, written, and/or visual means.
    • Ability to prepare and present briefings effectively.
    • Ability to create consistency across documentation to ensure that the look and feel of the documents are similar.

    Desired Certifications/Nice to Have:

    • Experience writing financial policies and procedures
    • FAR/DFARS experience
