    Araceli Biosciences has developed the first modern High Content Imaging platform capable of imaging and analyzing assay plates up to 40x faster than the current standard with industry leading image quality. Our customers use our platform to perform drug screens on larger libraries, under more conditions, in a fraction of the time they are used to. We are changing the face of drug discovery and are looking for innovative, excited, visionary leaders to join our team.

    Currently we are seeking a highly qualified Assay Development Scientist specializing in High Content Microscopy to join our team located in Tigard, Oregon. The ideal candidate will have a PhD or equivalent experience and >7 years of industry experience in biotechnology or pharmaceuticals. This role requires expertise in cell culture techniques, assay development, proficiency in both brightfield and fluorescent microscopy, and a strong background in image analysis. Experience with AI and machine learning in microscopy is advantageous. This position will help us blaze trails in assay development internally, drive new product development, support customers with assay development, and assist with customer engagement through remote and on-site demonstrations.

    JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:

    • Develop and optimize high content assays using advanced brightfield and fluorescent microscopy techniques.
    • Embody our need to unlock the power of speed through fast assays, beautiful images, and powerful data.
    • Collaborate with customers to understand their assay requirements and provide technical support for assay development and troubleshooting.
    • Serve as the primary technical liaison between customers and the company, delivering expert guidance and training on microscopy technologies and applications.
    • Contribute to new product development initiatives by providing technical insights, conducting feasibility studies, and participating in cross-functional teams.
    • Perform image analysis and segmentation using specialized software tools to extract quantitative data from microscopy images.
    • Utilize AI and machine learning methodologies to enhance image analysis capabilities and develop automated workflows.
    • Prepare and deliver technical presentations and demonstrations for customers both remotely and on-site to showcase product capabilities and solutions.
    • Stay current with industry trends and advancements in high content microscopy and assay development, applying new knowledge to improve products and customer support strategies.
    • Manage and grow a small team of biologists.
    • Expand the capabilities of the Tigard laboratory.

    JOB REQUIREMENTS:

    • PhD in Biology, Biochemistry, Cell Biology, or a related field. Equivalent experience considered.
    • 7 years of industry experience in assay development and high content microscopy, preferably in biotechnology or pharmaceutical sectors.

    • Proficient in cell culture techniques and experience with a variety of cell types and assay formats.
    • Expertise in both brightfield and fluorescent microscopy, including operation, optimization, and troubleshooting of imaging systems.
    • Strong background in image analysis and segmentation techniques; familiarity with software such as ImageJ, Cellprofiler, or equivalent.
    • Experience with AI and machine learning applied to microscopy data is a strong plus.
    • Excellent communication skills with the ability to convey complex technical information clearly and effectively to diverse audiences.
    • Willingness to travel as needed for customer engagement.

    JOB LOCATION:

    7405 SW Tech Center Dr. A160, Tigard, OR 97223. This is an on-site position with occasional travel for customer support & sales activities.
