    The Department of Kinesiology and the Graduate Physical Education Program invite applications for adjunct faculty to teach courses at the graduate level.

     

    RESPONSIBILITIES

    The primary responsibility of adjunct faculty is to deliver instruction in the manner determined by the department. In addition, faculty responsibilities may include:

     

    • Preparation of syllabus and teaching of curriculum according to the goals and objectives of the department.

    • Participation in faculty meetings and departmental activities as identified by the department chair or program director, and assigned in the adjunct faculty contract.

    • Determine student mastery of material and assign final course grades from evaluation of tests, quizzes, homework, and other assignments and activities related to course material.

    • Responsible for daily electronic timekeeping as it applies to the scope of this position.

     

    QUALIFICATIONS

    • Must have a master’s or terminal degree in the field related to the graduate physical education programs.
    • Preferred experience includes teaching face to face and online at the college or university level
    • The ability to work with students from diverse backgrounds.
    • A demonstrated, vibrant Christian faith compatible with the mission of Azusa Pacific University.
    • Specializations needed: Physical education curriculum and instruction; exercise science; coaching and athletic administration; sport management; and research.

     

    WORKLOAD

    Assigned teaching duties will not exceed 9 units per semester; office hours and additional duties may be assigned. Total workload will not exceed 29 hours per week, nor 24 units per 12-month period.

    KEY TASKS AND RESPONSIBILITIES                                    

     

    • Overseeing compliance with applicable federal, state, and local environmental regulations and permits, including maintaining required documentation and completing required reporting requirements.
    • Implementation of Environmental Protection Plans.
    • Maintaining environmental training for Contractor personnel in accordance with their position requirements.
    • Monitoring and documentation of environmental procedures and environmental commitments as required in project environmental permits.
    • Attending environmental coordination meetings with regulatory agencies, as required for permit compliance, modifications, or additional permit approvals.
    • Conducting field inspections as needed to ensure that environmental compliance measures and BMPs are meeting environmental requirements.
    • Maintaining close communication and coordination with Owner representatives. Reporting non-compliance occurrences or potential for non-compliance .
    • Ensuring Hazardous Waste and/or Dangerous Waste are identified, handled, packaged, and transported to an appropriate disposal facility.

     

     

    QUALIFICATIONS

     

    Minimum 5 years environmental compliance experience on construction projects; minimum 2 years experience with environmental procedures in the Pacific Northwest; is a Certified Erosion and Sediment Control Lead or Certified Professional in Erosion and Sediment Control; familiarity with environmental regulations applicable to construction operations; familiarity with Environmental Management Systems (EMSs); and familiarity with handling, treatment, and disposal of process water. Experience and familiarity working with accurate identification and classification of hazardous waste, dangerous waste, and hazardous materials; and other environmental documentation. The ECM must have been Department of Transportation certified under 49 CFR 172, Subpart H.

     

     

    PHYSICAL DEMANDS 

    • Travel will be required to attend training and meetings.  
    • Ability to sit or stand for an entire shift 
    • Occasionally required to stoop, bend, walk, crouch, and climb. 
    • Ability to lift, on a frequent basis, at least 50 pounds. 
    • Ability to speak, write, and understand English clearly.
