    Are you a skilled arborist looking for a new opportunity at a growing company? You might be a great fit to join our team. We need a qualified and experienced arborist to visit with clients and understand their landscaping needs. The responsibilities include planting, treating, and removing trees. The ideal candidate has excellent communication skills, is physically capable of performing strenuous work outdoors, and understands the anatomy and biology of trees, soil, fertilizer, and pesticides. Responsibilities: • Apply pesticides when necessary • Use handsaws, chainsaws, tree trimmers, and pruners for tree maintenance • Remove trees and other plants • Meet with clients to identify their landscaping needs • Set new trees in soil and support them with braces Essential Responsibilities • Review daily PHC work orders and execute treatments as prescribed, documenting service completion and crew hours using company systems (e.g., tablet/iPad). • Perform a range of PHC services, including soil management, trunk injections, root zone treatments, and foliar or basal applications. • Diagnose plant health conditions using sound arboricultural and horticultural knowledge, and apply treatments based on accurate assessments. • Safely operate PHC trucks and all related tools and equipment; must be DOT qualified where applicable. • Ensure proper mixing, application, storage, and disposal of all pesticides and fertilizers in compliance with product labels and company policy. • Wear and maintain appropriate PPE; follow all safety protocols and environmental protection guidelines. • Conduct equipment checks and routine maintenance of PHC tools and application machinery. • Maintain accurate records for all applications, including product use, timing, methods, and locations, in compliance with applicable laws and reporting systems. • Provide excellent customer service when interacting with clients and represent the company in a professional manner. • Perform other arboricultural or support duties as assigned. Qualifications: • Strong communication skills • A bachelor’s degree in environmental sciences or related field, or arboriculture field experience, is required • High school diploma, GED, or equivalent is required • Comfortable working on aerial lifts, and physically capable of climbing trees and lifting heavy objects is required • Must be proficient in the biology and anatomy of tree and soil Education • High school diploma or GED required. Experience • Minimum of 2 years' experience in Plant Health Care, Integrated Pest Management, or related green industry role. Certifications and Licenses • Valid driver’s license required. • State Pesticide Applicator License or ability to obtain within 6 months of hire. • Commercial Driver’s License (CDL) preferred but not required. Core Competencies • Working knowledge of PHC treatment methods and common tree/shrub disorders. • Strong attention to detail and commitment to safe, accurate work. • Comfortable using mobile devices and digital systems (e.g., iPad, software platforms like SingleOps). • Excellent time management and ability to work independently in the field. • Good written and verbal communication skills. • Customer-focused attitude with professionalism and integrity. • Ability to identify opportunities for upselling additional PHC services. • Physical Requirements • Ability to lift and carry 50 lbs. regularly (e.g., fertilizer bags, equipment). • Frequent standing, walking, bending, reaching, and kneeling throughout the workday. • Operation of powered hand tools and equipment such as sprayers, injectors, backpack blowers, and mixing tanks. • Tolerance for outdoor work in all weather conditions (heat, cold, rain, etc.). • Visual acuity and hearing ability are sufficient to safely perform equipment use and site assessments. Compensation: $20 - $25 hourly
