    About Us

RTEC has been serving Northern Virginia since 1996, focused on practical, science-based tree care and long-term client relationships. We take pride in doing things the right way—protecting properties, improving landscapes, and building a team that shows up, follows through, and keeps getting better.

    The Opportunity

This is a field-driven sales role with real ownership, not a desk job, but not purely fieldwork either.

As an Arborist Sales Representative, you’ll split your time between meeting clients on-site, building proposals, and managing the workflow behind the scenes to keep jobs moving.

This role is designed for someone who wants to grow---fast. You’ll be expected to learn quickly, stay organized, adapt to changing priorities, and take ownership of your results and income.

    What You’ll Be Doing

Meet with residential and commercial clients to walk properties and understand their tree and plant health needs

Learn to identify common tree and shrub species, diagnose issues, and recommend practical, science-based solutions (after the training period)

Build clear, accurate proposals using company tools and technology

Manage your work end-to-end---balancing field visits, client communication, proposals, and administrative follow-through

Stay on top of your pipeline: follow-ups, approvals, scheduling coordination, and job progression

Maintain and grow client relationships through consistent communication, follow-up, and quality service

Work closely with Production teams to ensure jobs are executed safely, correctly, and as sold

Monitor job progress and support quality control to ensure client satisfaction

Adapt your schedule and priorities as needed---weather, client needs, and operations shift daily

Generate opportunities through referrals, repeat clients, and proactive outreach

    What You’re Accountable For

Setting clear sales goals with your manager and consistently working to meet or exceed them

Managing the full sales cycle, including communication, estimating, follow-up, and job coordination

Ensuring what is sold is clear, accurate, and executable in the field

Taking ownership of client experience from first contact through job completion

Supporting and reinforcing company safety, transportation, and pesticide compliance standards

    What We Offer

Base pay + uncapped commission with strong earning potential

Company-provided vehicle, laptop, phone, and uniforms

    Medical, Dental, & Vision

    PTO and 6 paid holidays

    Simple IRA (after eligibility period)

    Paid ISA Certification support

Ongoing training and continuing education opportunities

Clear path for advancement---we promote from within

A safety-first, professional work environment focused on quality and continuous improvement

    Who You Are

You enjoy working outdoors but are also comfortable handling the behind-the-scenes (basic software and CRMs) work that keeps things running

You’re dependable---when you commit to something, you follow through

You’re motivated by performance, growth, and the opportunity to increase your earnings

You communicate clearly and can build trust with a wide range of clients and your team

You stay organized and can manage multiple priorities without constant oversight

You adapt quickly when plans change and don’t get stuck when things shift

You’re willing to learn the technical side of tree care and apply it in real situations

You take feedback seriously and use it to improve
