Design Group is recruiting for a HUMAN RESOURCES ASSISTANT in our Berwick, PA location to help us with the many aspects of benefits administration.
WHAT WILL I DO IN THIS ROLE?
In this role, the HR ASSISTANT will maintain accurate employee benefit records including new enrollments and family and employment status changes. In addition, you will provide employees with information regarding benefit programs and assist with the open enrollment process.
This entry level position will allow you to play an important role by processing assigned health and welfare plan payments and wires in a timely manner, create and run reports as required and accurately log employee deductions and the collection of any unpaid employee benefit deductions due to leave of absence, layoff or COBRA election.
Attention to detail is a must as you will be accountable to accurately enter benefit enrollments and changes for health and welfare plans into payroll/HRIS system and with numerous carriers. You may also perform tasks for other Human Resources functional areas as needed.
WHAT SKILLS DO I NEED?
Our perfect candidate is someone with specialized business office knowledge typically acquired through 2 years or more of post-secondary education coursework in business or related field. 2-3 years’ experience in an office setting handling administrative duties or experience in HR or benefits administration is a plus.
The HR ASSISTANT will need to demonstrate strong interpersonal and communication skills and have an intermediate level in spreadsheets and databases, preferably Microsoft Office, ADP Payroll/HRIS.
The person who will excel in this role will have great time management skills, good communication, ability to accept feedback, enjoy working as a team, manage multiple projects simultaneously, and meet tight deadlines.
