    POSITION SUMMARY

    Assist in maintaining safe and on-time operations in the branch warehouse.

     

    ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

    Responsible for the following duties as directed by the supervisor:

    • Freight receipt, breakdown and put-away;
    • Incoming visual inspections;
    • Maintaining inventory organization;
    • Preparing customer orders for shipment;
    • Scheduling and organizing delivery schedules;
    • Delivery of customer orders;
    • Maintaining warehouse equipment and supplies;
    • Productivity/performance reporting.

     

    QUALIFICATIONS, SKILLS & ABILITIES

    • High school diploma or equivalent required
    • 5+ years in a supervisory role, preferably in distribution
    • Effective verbal communication skills and basic math
    • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and ability to become proficient in Company integrated database systems
    • Experience with handheld scanning devices, RF scanners
    • Ability to lead warehouse employees and to promote teamwork in achieving branch goals
    • Forklift certification or ability to be certified
    • State-mandated driver certification, if applicable

  • Qualifications

     

    • Must have current New York State Driver’s License and access to timely and reliable transportation to transport self to multiple sites.
    • Basic Outlook skills as evidenced by creating and sending messages, working with address books, message handling, creating and using personal folders, scheduling appointments, working with meeting requests and managing tasks.
    • Basic Microsoft Word skills as evidenced by the ability to produce basic business letters and simple tables and charts; as well as check spelling, set tabs, change page orientation, sort, save, open and organize electronic files.
    • Must be able to relate to people with sensitivity, tact, and objectivity.
    • Must have excellent communication skills including verbal and written.
    • Demonstrates attention to detail and good organizational skills maintaining time management.
    • Strong problem solving ability, attention to detail and the ability to adapt to quickly changing needs.
    • Ability to provide quality customer service in a confidential manner
    • Leads by example in a manner that positively contributes to the team.
    • Knowledge of community resources and how to access them, knowledge of advocacy and consumer driven case management activities and principles.
    • Knowledge of individual driven case management
    • Ability to manage time efficiently
    • Ability to listen and observe.

     

    PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

    • Standing 25% of the day. Walking 25% of the day. Sitting 50% of the day
    • Occasionally required to stoop, crouch reach, push and lift.
    • Required to exert up to 10 pounds of force frequently.
    • Visual acuity required to view a computer terminal, check accuracy, neatness and thoroughness of written work, prepare and analyze data and figures.
    • Ability to use all equipment and adaptive equipment safely and effectively.
