    As a Social Worker for the Arc of Monroe you will be responsible for the diagnosis and treatment of mental health disorders of individuals enrolled in or referred to Arc Health Services. You will evaluate individuals to determine their need for mental health services and will establish objectives, coordinating with residential staff and the individual’s family.

    Other responsibilities include providing individual and/or group therapy, counseling with individuals and families to develop home programs, training staff and maintaining accurate and complete documentation.

     

    Required Skills

     

    • Must have current New York State Driver’s License and access to timely and reliable transportation to transport self to multiple sites.
    • Basic Outlook skills as evidenced by creating and sending messages, working with address books, message handling, creating and using personal folders, scheduling appointments, working with meeting requests and managing tasks.
    • Basic Microsoft Word skills as evidenced by the ability to produce basic business letters and simple tables and charts; as well as check spelling, set tabs, change page orientation, sort, save, open and organize electronic files.
    • Must be able to relate to people with sensitivity, tact, and objectivity.
    • Must have excellent communication skills including verbal and written.
    • Demonstrates attention to detail and good organizational skills maintaining time management.
    • Strong problem solving ability, attention to detail and the ability to adapt to quickly changing needs.
    • Ability to provide quality customer service in a confidential manner
    • Leads by example in a manner that positively contributes to the team.
    • Knowledge of community resources and how to access them, knowledge of advocacy and consumer driven case management activities and principles.
    • Knowledge of individual driven case management
    • Ability to manage time efficiently
    • Ability to listen and observe.

     

    PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

    • Standing 25% of the day. Walking 25% of the day. Sitting 50% of the day
    • Occasionally required to stoop, crouch reach, push and lift.
    • Required to exert up to 10 pounds of force frequently.
    • Visual acuity required to view a computer terminal, check accuracy, neatness and thoroughness of written work, prepare and analyze data and figures.
    • Ability to use all equipment and adaptive equipment safely and effectively.

    Required Experience

     

    Masters degree and licensure LMSW or LCSW (preferred) in Social Work; plus at least one year of clinical experience in a human services setting serving people with developmental disabilities.
