    THE JOB (THE BIG STUFF)

     

    MARKETING RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES 70%

    • Manages/supervises creative services processes and procedures and leads key projects.
    • Performs as primary and senior graphic designer, in-house graphics/desktop publisher and production specialist responsible for designing and producing a wide range of marketing and promotional materials a variety of other collateral and marketing materials. Acts as a mixed-media specialist for the Redwood Group; assisting departments with a diverse array of in-house graphic design, video production, digital presentations, photography and desktop publishing projects, as needed.
    • With support from Marketing Manager, trains new creative services staff and other staff as requested on projects and other creative services procedures.
    • Creates, develops, and executes quality onboarding processes for creative services staff and other roles as requested by Marketing Manager.
    • Oversees the creative services and graphic design outputs and assignments for effectiveness, improved results, accuracy and efficiency.
    • Oversees outputs, communications, and day to day activities of the Graphics Designers, and provides guidance, support and direction of graphic design, branding and other work. Provides input to Marketing Manager on Graphic Designers workload and performance.
    • Work with other members of the marketing team on the development of new Member testimonial photographs to be used in a wide variety of ads, organizational publications, videos and slideshows.
    • Provides and/or drives creative direction of brand and marketing materials that communicates authentic Member stories and their experiences. Performs lead role on post-production.
    • Works closely with the Senior Digital Marketing Specialist on online/digital/mobile efforts, and acts as the senior graphics resource for online/web/mobile and email efforts.
    • Acts as primary project manager for branch and ATM retail merchandising program which includes merchandising design plans for branches, ATMs and other locations, handles all Point of Sale (POS) materials, merchandising and sign programs, digital and static, for all branches, as well as the re-merchandising of existing branches. Manages vendor relationships, works closely with Corporate Real Estate and Facilities departments, recommends plans and solutions to Marketing Manager and SVP/Marketing & Communications and oversees the installation of merchandising hardware and collateral. Also oversees the Branch Liaison program with support from Graphic Designer and Marketing Coordinator.
    • Supports production and creative needs of Communications/PR staff on projects such as Member newsletters and inserts, including creating project plans, driving effective communications, ensuring quality and timely production of materials and coordinating with Marketing Department staff and key stakeholders. Responsible for excellent vendor, budget and time management.
    • Acts as a primary project manager/coordinator for select promotions and projects and interfaces with key internal stakeholders to ensure effective marketing plans, goals and coordination of marketing efforts. In this role, is responsible for developing and communicating project plans and executing projects.
    • Acts as a key player in maintaining the integrity of the Redwood Group’s brands, ensuring effective and consistent use of the names, logos, and other representations of the organizations both internally and externally.

     

    DEPARTMENT SUPPORT 20%

    • Assists in coordinating special events and ensures the proper planning and execution of these events. These events may include the Annual Membership Meeting, branch events, auto sales and other Member and community events.
    • Assists with a variety of quality control and proofreading tasks and other marketing support as requested.
    • Provides excellent service to Members, Officials, management, staff, vendors and community contacts and ensures positive relationships with a diverse group of people.

    NON-ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS 10%

    • Assists the Marketing Coordinator and other staff with RCU’s efforts related to community/nonprofit groups, including marketing, communication, organization and event support. Also includes volunteering at RCU sponsored nonprofit and community events.
    • Performs other duties as assigned.

    Required Skills

    • Demonstrated knowledge, experience and skills in online marketing techniques and practices including websites, digital marketing and social media.
    • Demonstrated knowledge, experience and skills in video production and photography.
    • Excellent ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing. Must have strong command of the English language including grammar and punctuation.
    • Excellent project management skills and demonstrated ability to consistent achieve deadlines on time and in a quality manner.
    • Excellent organizational skills and ability to prioritize and successfully manage multiple tasks and deadlines simultaneously.
    • Demonstrated ability to execute efficient marketing efforts on defined budget. Must have ability to achieve assigned budget and track and monitor expenditures.
    • Highly proficient in desktop publishing and graphic design software and computer skills including Photoshop, InDesign and Adobe software, website content management systems, video software, social media, online graphics, PowerPoint, Word, and Excel.
    • Strong attention to detail and demonstrated ability to ensure quality control.
    • Ability to analyze situations, foresee and solve problems, and recommend solutions.
    • Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with a diverse group of people.
    • Demonstrated service orientation and ability to serve others including the general public and internal coworkers and stakeholders.

    Required Experience

    • A combination of education and experience equivalent to a BA/BS degree in Business, Marketing or closely related field and a minimum of five years of specific job related experience.
    • Certification in desktop publishing and/or graphics a plus.
    • Knowledge of financial institution marketing and/or credit union industry and Bilingual/Spanish speaking abilities a plus.
