Training & development
The Technician is responsible for maintaining, troubleshooting, and repairing arcade games and related equipment to ensure reliable operation and an excellent guest experience. This role supports Cidercade’s Arlington and Fort Worth locations and focuses on keeping all games safe, functional, and well-maintained.
Key Responsibilities
Arcade Game Maintenance & Repair Diagnose and repair technical issues with arcade machines, including electrical, mechanical, and software-related problems Perform routine preventive maintenance to reduce downtime and extend equipment life Ensure all arcade machines are operating properly and are safe for guest use Set up, configure, test, and relocate arcade games as needed Identify recurring issues and determine root causes Maintain accurate records of repairs, maintenance performed, and parts used
Inventory & Parts Management Track parts, tools, and supplies required for arcade game repairs Recommend replacement parts or components as needed Maintain organized and functional work areas
Collaboration & Communication Communicate with management regarding game status, repair timelines, and ongoing issues Coordinate with vendors or third-party service providers for specialized repairs when necessary Provide feedback on game performance, wear trends, and potential improvements
Safety & Standards Perform all work in accordance with company safety standards and procedures Identify and address safety concerns related to arcade games and equipment Maintain clean and orderly work areas on and around the arcade floor
Skills & Qualifications
Prior experience as an arcade game technician or in a related technical role Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills Working knowledge of arcade game hardware, electronics, mechanical systems, and basic software diagnostics Ability to use a volt meter and perform basic electrical diagnostics Soldering ability to a functional level, demonstrating understanding of power, repair techniques, and component replacement Ability to work independently and manage multiple repair tasks Strong communication and organizational skills Must have and maintain their own basic set of tools required for arcade game repair; recommendations can be provided if needed Willingness to travel between Arlington and Fort Worth locations Availability to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed Willingness and ability to download and use work-related apps (such as Trello); must have a phone capable of supporting these applications
Physical Demands
Ability to stand, bend, crouch, and move for extended periods Ability to lift and carry up to 30 lbs Comfortable working around mechanical and electronic equipment Ability to work in a noisy, high-energy environment
Working Conditions
Work is performed primarily on the arcade floor and in game service areas Fast-paced, hands-on environment Schedule may include evenings, weekends, and holidays Travel between Cidercade Arlington and Fort Worth is required
