    Job Description

    We are looking for an experienced Payroll Specialist to overview daily US payroll operations. Your primary responsibility will be to issue employee payments, considering deductions and withholdings. You’ll prepare payroll schedules and records and you’ll contribute to various payroll / accounting tasks, such as onboarding Consultants and updating payroll files. To succeed in this role, you must have strong mathematical skills and knowledge of national and regional laws on payroll and taxes

    RESPONSIBILITIES

    • Contract verification, review and confirm pay rates, pay type, payment calendar and back up for new contracts in Bullhorn.

    • Collect and import time from VMS systems and Bullhorn.

    • Upload payment information into iSolved and prepare batches for payment

    • Create tax codes, pay codes and other in iSolved to set up the system properly for payment.

    • Oversee employee paychecks

    • Review net salaries considering deductions and withholdings

    • Prepare and distribute payment calendars – Client specific

    • Monitor paid and unpaid leaves

    • Process overtime earnings or holiday deductions

    • Resolve payroll problems (e.g. overlooked bank holidays, late payments, etc.)

    • Answer employee questions concerning payroll

    • Ensure compliance with governmental laws on payroll accounting and taxes

    • Ensure candidates are in iSolved accurately and rehires are updated accordingly

    • Respond to garnishments and enter and maintain in iSolved – I know Cynthia is doing garnishments, but we should all know them.

    • Respond to medical support notices and maintain in iSolved  

    • Maintain benefits module in Isolved by review additions, removals and other.

    COBRA maintenance

     

    REQUIREMENTS

    • 2 years of payroll processing experience in a high-volume payroll operation

    • Knowledge of all US federal, state, and local regulations, including state wage-hour laws

    • Knowledge of all Canadian Labor Law regulations, would be an assest

    • Experience in a multi-national company desirable

    • Understanding local and governmental rules about payroll

    • Excellent knowledge of MS Office, especially Excel

    • Attention to detail

    • A valid national certification (e.g. Fundamental Payroll Certification)
