    JOB SUMMARY/PURPOSE

    The Enterprise Technology Architect is technically aligned to infrastructure services and focused on building a SaaS-first, simplified, and AI-enabled IT landscape. The Enterprise Technology Architect will own the architecture practice, set standards, guide solution design, and ensure resiliency across technology domains. The ideal candidate is passionate about IT, forward-thinking, problem-solving oriented, and a go-getter with a vision for how technology will evolve over the next decade. They should align with Delta Utilities’ modern philosophy of a SaaS-first, buy-over-build approach that prioritizes an efficient tool stack, and leverages generative AI to increase productivity and accelerate delivery.

    ** ACCOUNTABILITIES AND ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS**

    • Chair the Solution Review Board for projects and major changes
    • Run Architectural Review Boards covering standards, patterns, new software, and roadmaps
    • Lead Architectural Readiness Reviews before go-live to confirm non-functional requirements
    • Develop and maintain multi-year technology roadmaps mapped to business growth and guiding pillars
    • Publish and update enterprise standards (cloud reference architectures, integration patterns, data models)
    • Own the enterprise architecture strategy that supports SaaS-first, reliability, cost optimization, zero-trust goals, and incorporates generative or agentic AI where beneficial
    • Produce high level and detailed technical designs for infrastructure services including networks, cloud platforms, end user computing, and core IT operations while collaborating with application, data, and security teams to ensure integrated solutions.
    • Translate business and operational needs into clear technical specifications and architectural blueprints.
    • Maintain authoritative architectural design documents in ServiceNow Knowledge & CMDB
    • Perform annual architectural assessments of key platforms (Azure, OCI, M365, Meraki, Palo Alto, etc.)
    • Define and track architecture KPIs (availability, performance, cost, security posture)
    • Utilize generative AI tools to optimize documentation, automate analysis, and accelerate decision-making
    • Lead disaster recovery planning (regional, security, technical) in line with 99.99% uptime targets
    • Partner with Cloud, ServiceNow, ITIL, Network, and Data teams plus strategic vendors (Microsoft, Oracle, Accenture, Cisco) to deliver cohesive solutions
    • Mentor engineers and architects with a strong emphasis on hands-on technical skills and AI-assisted practices
    • Represent Technology Operations in executive and partner forums, translating architecture decisions into business-centered language

    ** MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS**

    Minimum education required of the position

    • Bachelor’s in Computer Science, Engineering, or similar.
    • In lieu of a degree, candidates must have at least 4 additional years of experience in enterprise architecture, in addition to the 8 years of experience required below.

    ** Minimum experience required of the position**

    • Minimum of 8 years of experience in enterprise architecture, with at least 5 years focused on leading architecture governance initiatives.
    • Preferred: Experience in the utilities, energy, or asset-intensive industries.

    ** Minimum knowledge, skills and abilities preferred of the position**

    • Proven record of hands-on implementation and technical leadership Cloud platforms (Azure, OCI); ITSM / ITIL processes; Meraki Networking; Security and zero-trust architecture
    • High-availability and DR design
    • Practical use of generative AI to drive productivity
    • Proven ability to run architecture boards and influence senior stakeholders

    ** Any certificates, licenses, etc. required for the position**

    • Required: Azure Solutions Architect Expert
    • Preferred: OCI Architect, ITIL v4 Foundation.

    ** Physical Requirements**

    • Able to operate a motor vehicle, including the ability to enter and exit vehicle unassisted.
    • Able to perform on-site inspections.
    • Able to operate a personal computer, either desktop or laptop.
    • Able to sit for extended periods of time.
    • Able to operate a copy machine, fax machine, calculator, telephone and other miscellaneous office equipment.
    • Able to exert up to 50 Lbs. of force occasionally, and /or a minimal amount of force frequently to lift, carry, push or otherwise move objects.

    • Able to wear and operate personal protective equipment, such as respirator, safety glasses, hardhat, gloves, protective footwear and earplugs daily.
    • Able to be included in random drug screen pool required for DOT drivers and DOT safety sensitive positions.
    • May be required to remain in the service area during emergency events and assume responsibilities assigned by the company to aide in restoration efforts.
