    ASG is looking for a SENIOR HR BUSINESS PARTNER FOR OUR NORTH AUSTIN, TX location to support multiple branch locations on the west coast. This role will provide HR leadership, consultation and support of initiatives in the areas of performance management, organizational development, employee relations, recruiting, benefits, compensation, process & policy guidance and improvement, immigration and legal compliance, all to ultimately drive business success.     POSITION SUMMARY

    The Senior HR Business Partner position is responsible for aligning business objectives with employees and management in designated business units.The position serves as a consultant to management on human resource-related issues. The successful Senior HR Business Partner acts as an employee champion and change agent. The role assesses and anticipates HR-related needs.Communicates needs proactively with our HR department and business management,the Senior HR Business Partner seeks to develop integrated solutions.

    The position formulates partnerships across the HR function to deliver value-added service to management and employees that reflects the business objectives of the organization. The position may include international human resource responsibilities. The Senior HR Business Partner maintains an effective level of business literacy about the business unit's financial position, itsmid-range plans, its culture and its competition.

    ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS STATEMENT(S)

    • Mediate and resolve employee relations issues; conduct thorough and objective investigations when necessary.

    • Conduct weekly meetings with respective business units.

    • Facilitate difficult conversations, including dealing with understaffing, refereeing disputes, firing employees, and administering disciplinary procedures.

    • Consult with line management, providing HR guidance when appropriate.

    • Ensure regulatory compliance with legal requirements pertinent to the day-to-day management of employees; collaborate with the legal department when necessary.

    • Seek opportunities to build process improvements and incorporate best practices.  

    • Provide day-to-day performance management guidance to line management(e.g., coaching, counseling, career development, disciplinary actions).

    • Work closely with management and employees to improve work relationships, build morale, and increase productivity and retention.

    • Administer compensation, benefits and performance management systems,and safety programs.

    • Provide HR policy guidance and interpretation.

    • Advise managers and supervisors on organizational policy matters such as equal employment opportunity and sexual harassment and recommend needed changes.

    • Participate or lead HR related projects and initiatives.

    • Identify training needs for business units and execute learning plans.Follow up to ensure development objectives are met.

    • Readiness for growth through organic means or acquisition.

    • Develop and nurture partnerships through human resources to bridge the divide between management and employees. 

    • Maintain awareness of the culture, plans, financial position, andcompetition of the business units under the HR guidance.

    • Develop employment agreements and status changes for new hires,promotions, transfers and separations Perform other duties as assigned.

    SKILLS & ABILITIES

    EDUCATION:

    • Bachelor's Degree (four-year college or technical school) in Human Resources or Business Administration · Preferred: Master's Degree

    EXPERIENCE:

    • 5 - 7 years of experience in Human Resources Management, preferably in a service industry
    • Proven work experience as an HR Business Partner or Manager

    COMPUTER SKILLS: 

    • MS Office suite
    • HRIS
    • Talent Acquisition and Performance Management software

    CERTIFICATIONS & LICENSES:

    • PHR, SPHR or equivalent

    OTHER REQUIREMENTS: 

    • Demonstrable experience with analyzing and utilizing HR metrics
    • Full understanding of all HR functions and best practices
    • Ability to travel a few times a month or as a need arises
    • Responsive to inquiries outside of business hours
