  • Responsibilities

    Arctic Snow and Ice is looking to hire a Mechanical Engineer to grow their engineering dept. The ideal candidate will possess experience with, but not limited to shop floor machine programming, quality control, fixturing, and part manual creation.

    The Mechanical Engineer is responsible for designing, developing, and implementing manufacturing processes and equipment for the production of goods. They will work closely with other departments such as R&D, quality control, and production to ensure that products are manufactured efficiently, cost-effectively, and to the highest quality standards.

    Responsibilities:

    Identifying deficiencies in mechanical processes and developing improvements

    • Designing and developing prototypes

    • Analyzing and testing prototypes and each revision of a device

    • Supervising the development of computer-aided design (CAD) project drawings from junior team members

    • Developing, initiating and managing all phases of projects

    • Preparing documentation of critical analysis and providing suggestions for correcting errors

    • Collaborating with Project Managers for proper allocation and tracking of resources

    • Design and develop manufacturing processes and equipment and work to create Plasma, laser, and brake press programs.

    • Implement new manufacturing processes and equipment including the organization of parts and product manuals.

    • Monitor and improve the efficiency and productivity of existing processes

    • Create and maintain process documentation around a comprehensive coupler program.

    • Collaborate with outside operations and quality control teams to ensure products meet specifications.

    *Identify and implement cost reduction opportunities

    • Stay current with industry trends and advancements in technology

    • Conduct time and motion studies to optimize processes

    • Provide training and support to production and maintenance teams

    • Work with welding robot programmers

    *Monitor manufacturing cycle times and set quotas

    Qualifications :

    • Bachelor's degree in Manufacturing Engineering, Mechanical Engineering or related field

    • Experience in manufacturing engineering, production, or a related field

    • Strong understanding of manufacturing processes and equipment

    • Proficient in CAD (Solidworks), project management and statistical analysis software

    • Strong problem-solving and analytical skills

    • Excellent communication and leadership skills

    • Strong attention to detail

    • Ability to work independently and manage multiple projects

    Applicant requirements

    *Solidworks CAD experience required

    *2D nesting experience with laser and plasma machines (Pronest and TruTops Boost)

    *3D forming experience with sheet metal preferred

    *5-10 years heavy manufacturing experience

    *Agriculture industry experience preferred

    *Engineering process control and PLM experience

    *Hydraulic experience preferred

    *Basic electrical wiring experience preferred

    *Experience with Epicor ERP software
