    Job Description

    We are seeking a Senior Cloud Systems Engineer to add to our dynamic team. In this role, you will be part of the engineering team responsible for architecting, defining, designing, and prototyping Cloud-based solutions based on Azure and Azure Stack HCI more. Your primary responsibility is to work with customers to identify their cloud and cybersecurity needs, and rapidly iterate from concept to requirements, to prototype solution. You fuse a keen sense of empathy for the customer’s challenges with your hands-on expertise with cloud and security solutions to delight the customer.

    Duties and Responsibilities

    • Identify Customer Requirements: Meet with customers to understand and capture their current challenges and opportunities.
    • Develop Solutions: Architect and design solutions to meet customer needs, accounting for functional requirements, scalability, performance, cost, resilience, and security needs.
    • Collaborate effectively: Leveraging the customers’ requirements; partner with sales, developers, engineering, and customer team members to solve issues and provide sustainable solutions.
    • Drive tangible results: Estimate development costs and the delivery schedule, including identifying critical paths to ensure successful delivery under budget. Draft and refine systems design, architecture diagrams, design artifacts, and presentations to meet project requirements.
    • Deliver Value: Through implementing prototype, concept, and initial solutions in cloud environments.

    Required Skills

    • Experience building Azure-, Entra- and M365- based solutions in enterprise and production environments.
    • Secure and resilient system design.
    • IaaS, PaaS, and SaaS service composition.
    • Azure, Entra, Purview, and M365 service security and lockdown.
    • Hands-on experience with virtual and remote desktop servers and gateways, and remote server management (iLO, iDRAC, etc.)
    • Configuration, management, and optimization of containers, Kubernetes, Azure Kubernetes (AKS) and similar services
    • Strong verbal and presentation skills.

    Required Qualifications

    • 8 years industry experience in cybersecurity, information technology, cloud, or related roles.
    • Bachelor’s degree in engineering, Computer Science, or other similar related field, or five additional years of equivalent experience.
    • This is an on-site position located at the customer’s facility in Charleston SC. Candidates must live in the greater Charleston area or be willing to relocate there before starting.
    • This position requires the ability to obtain and maintain a DoD Secret security clearance.
    • The ability to travel to customer sites 0-25% as required.

    Additional Preferred Qualifications

    • Popular Azure services and components such as KeyVault, LogicApps, NSGs, Event Hub, ExpressRoute, Defender, Kubernetes Sentinel, Log Analytics, SQL Database, Blob Storage, Functions, and the like
    • Hands-on experience with Azure Stack HCI
    • Hands-on experience configuring and optimizing server and data center hardware, and cable management.
    • Sound understanding of network protocols/services and network infrastructures.
    • Strong analytical skills, critical thinking skills and problem-solving skills.
    • Capability to independently complete project tasks with minimal supervision.
    • DevOps and DevSecOps focus with experience building and deploying infrastructure with automation like Ansible, Chef, Puppet, Terraform, etc. with security features and secure system design built in.
    • Production experience with automation and scripting using PowerShell; work with Terraform a plus.
    • Self-motivated, highly organized and detail oriented with the ability to work independently, prioritize and multi-task.
    • Domain-related certifications are a plus, such as from Microsoft, SANS, Offensive Security, ISC2, etc.
    • Understanding of modern threat environments and attack types, as well as secure system design; hands-on experience with any of the following are a plus:
      • Security incident response, vulnerability assessment, or penetration testing
      • Threat modeling, threat analysis, and ATT&CK
    • Writing and editing technical/functional requirements, design specs, and design documents.
