    ABOUT OUR ROLE

    Under the direction of the Regional Director of Operations and Vice President of Finance, the Regional Controller assists with the oversight, management and daily/monthly review of accounting and finance operations of the West region assets – including Trailborn Grand Canyon, Trailborn Rocky Mountains, and Trailborn Mendocino. As Regional Controller, your duties include, but are not limited to, adhering to company accounting standards, aligning property operations to the annual budget, overseeing the monthly financial close, managing day-to-day financial operations, reconciling all balance sheet accounts monthly, verifying inventories, and maintaining the overall integrity of financial statements. You will oversee all accounting aspects of the properties and works in conjunction with Senior Leadership in the aggressive and successful growth of the company.

    ESSENTIAL

    FUNCTIONS

    • Assist in the planning, developing, and implementing of the organization’s financial goals. Integrate financial planning with the organization’s strategic direction.
    • Prepare monthly financial statements, financial packages, and other informational reports/analysis.
    • Ensure the timely submission and accuracy of bi-weekly payroll at each property, while verifying that controls are met for all payroll submissions.
    • Lead the annual budgeting process and provide updated forecasts as required by senior leadership.
    • Review financial results and discuss changes to address needs and trends. Assist in the development of monitoring policies and procedures within generally accepted accounting principles and corporate guidelines to ensure sufficient cash flow and reduced operating costs.
    • Establish and reinforce a system of effective accounting and operational controls. Manage all accounting operations including A/R, A/P, Cashiering, and General Ledger accounting.
    • Ensure underlying accounting records are accurate, complete and in accordance with all record keeping legalities and regulatory requirements.
    • Lead month-end and year-end close process, providing all required documentation within the established deadlines.
    • Ensure adequate controls are installed and maintained for the protection of the organization’s financial assets against loss or misappropriation.
    • Communicate financial metrics to senior management.
    • Coordinate and prepare for external and internal audits.

    QUALIFICATIONS

    • Four-year college degree or equivalent education/experience. CPA preferred.
    • A minimum of four (4) years’ experience in a related position. Hotel and/or hospitality experience preferred.
    • Ability to perform critical analysis and manage a wide range of information.
    • Strong management skills, technical accounting expertise, exceptional analytical and problem-solving abilities.
    • Experience with brand loyalty redemption processes, Marriott preferred.
    • Requires advanced knowledge of the principles and practices within the finance and hospitality professions.
    • Requires ability to investigate and analyze current activities or information and indicate logical conclusions and recommendations and make decisions based on established policies and procedures.
    • Excellent oral, written, listening and presentation skills sufficient to produce communication that properly reflects the organization image.

    ESSENTIAL PHYSICAL JOB FUNCTIONS

    • Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
    • Must be able to lift up to 15 pounds at times.

    SOFTWARE PROFICIENCY

    Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Excel and basic hospitality account systems are required in this role. While Trailborn utilizes the following systems in its Accounting workflow specifically, consideration will be given for experience with similar platforms.

    SCHEDULE

    Hospitality demands a flexible schedule that may require extended hours as the business requires coverage including seasonality– on any day at any hour, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.

    SALARY

    $95,000-$110,000
