    Position Summary

    The Client Services Leader plays a strategic role in driving revenue growth by leading client engagement efforts, supporting proposal development, and advancing business development initiatives. This position bridges operations, marketing, and executive leadership to position the firm competitively in the construction and engineering marketplace.

    The role focuses on identifying opportunities, strengthening client relationships, coordinating proposal strategy, and supporting pursuit efforts from lead generation through contract award.

    Key Responsibilities

    Business Development & Client Engagement

    • Develop and maintain strong relationships with public and private sector clients.
    • Identify upcoming opportunities, create and or support capture planning strategies.
    • Participate in client meetings, industry events, and networking activities.
    • Collaborate with technical leaders to position the firm for upcoming projects.
    • Assist in closing opportunities and supporting contract negotiations as needed.

    Proposal Leadership & Strategy

    • Partner with the Proposal Managers/Team to lead win strategy development.
    • Contribute to go/no-go decisions.
    • Support development of value propositions and differentiators.
    • Assist in preparing executive summaries and client-focused messaging.
    • Participate in interview preparation and presentation strategy.

    Market Intelligence & Positioning

    • Monitor industry trends, competitor activity, and procurement pipelines.
    • Maintain awareness of municipal, state, and private engineering and construction opportunities.
    • Help align marketing materials (including project descriptions and resumes) with target markets.

    Internal Collaboration

    • Work closely with engineering staff, program and construction managers, and project executives.
    • Coordinate with marketing team for branding and messaging consistency.
    • Support CRM updates and opportunity tracking.

    Required Skills

    Qualifications

    • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Marketing, Engineering, Construction Management, or related field.
    • 5+ years of experience in business development, client services, or proposal support within the construction or engineering industry.
    • Demonstrated experience supporting competitive proposal submissions (public sector preferred).
    • Strong understanding of procurement processes (RFQ/RFP).
    • Excellent communication and presentation skills.
    • Ability to influence without direct authority.

    Required Experience

    EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE:

    • Required: Bachelor’s degree in business, engineering, science or a related subject.
    • Preferred: Master of Business Administration or Master’s in Marketing.
    • A minimum of five years experience with engineering or business duties and responsibilities, and working with client organizations, required
    • Proven track record of securing and growing client engagements on time and within budget with documented client satisfaction, required
    • Preferred: More than ten years client development experience in program management, construction management or engineering related disciplines in connection with transportation, water, energy, facilities, federal or environmental market projects.
