    Area Manager – Multi-Unit Operations-Dulles & Reston-Herndon

    Do you love leading teams, driving results, building community relationships, and creating memorable guest experiences? We are seeking an experienced and motivated Area Manager to oversee our Nothing Bundt Cakes bakeries in Dulles and Reston-Herndon.

    This is a hands-on, operations-heavy leadership role ideal for someone who thrives in a fast-paced environment and can balance team leadership, operational excellence, sales growth, and business development.

    What You Will Do

    Lead day-to-day operations across two bakery locations

    Recruit, coach, and develop bakery leadership teams

    Drive sales growth and profitability

    Ensure exceptional guest experiences and brand consistency

    Monitor labor, inventory, scheduling, and operational KPIs

    Build community partnerships and develop corporate relationships

    Identify new business opportunities including catering and corporate gifting

    Support local marketing efforts and social media initiatives

    Maintain food safety, cleanliness, and operational standards

    Nothing Bundt Cakes – Dulles

    Nothing Bundt Cakes – Reston-Herndon

    Position Summary

    The Area Manager is responsible for leading and overseeing the operational performance, profitability, team development, and guest experience across two Nothing Bundt Cakes bakery locations: Dulles and Reston-Herndon. This role ensures each bakery consistently delivers an exceptional guest experience while maintaining brand standards, operational excellence, and a positive team culture.

    This position is intentionally operations-heavy and requires a hands-on leader who can balance daily operational execution with strategic growth initiatives. The Area Manager serves as a leader, coach, and business driver, partnering with bakery managers and team members to improve efficiencies, increase sales, develop teams, and expand community and corporate relationships.

    Essential Responsibilities

    Leadership & Team Development

    Recruit, hire, train, and develop bakery management teams

    Coach and mentor Bakery Managers and shift leaders

    Build a culture centered on accountability, teamwork, guest service, and operational excellence

    Conduct performance evaluations and provide ongoing feedback

    Support employee engagement and retention initiatives

    Address employee relations issues and performance concerns as needed

    Operations Management

    Ensure both bakeries maintain Nothing Bundt Cakes brand standards

    Monitor daily operations and resolve operational challenges proactively

    Oversee staffing levels and scheduling to support business needs

    Ensure compliance with food safety, sanitation, and health regulations

    Conduct regular bakery visits and operational audits

    Ensure inventory, ordering, and waste controls are maintained

    Financial Performance

    Drive sales and profitability across both locations

    Monitor labor, food costs, and controllable expenses

    Analyze Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) and identify opportunities for improvement

    Create action plans to achieve financial and operational goals

    Review and manage Profit and Loss (P&L) performance

    Guest Experience, Sales & Business Development

    Ensure an exceptional and consistent guest experience

    Address escalated guest concerns promptly and professionally

    Lead local marketing initiatives and community partnerships

    Develop relationships with corporate clients, schools, nonprofits, and local organizations

    Drive business development efforts and identify opportunities for new revenue streams

    Build and grow catering, corporate gifting, and community sales opportunities

    Support and oversee social media efforts and local brand awareness initiatives

    Use strong sales leadership to drive growth across both bakery locations

    Qualifications

    3–5+ years of multi-unit retail, restaurant, hospitality, or food service management experience preferred

    Previous experience leading multiple locations strongly preferred

    Demonstrated success managing teams and driving results

    Strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills

    Ability to analyze business metrics and make operational decisions

    Experience with staffing, scheduling, budgeting, and performance management

    Comfortable working in a fast-paced, guest-focused environment

    Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation required

    Physical Requirements
