    As the Sales & Membership Associate, you will play a pivotal role in recruiting new members to our Discovery Campus, supporting the growth of our gift shop, and creating a welcoming, enthusiastic atmosphere for all visitors. The ideal candidate will have at least 2 years of leadership/managerial experience, be quick on their feet, and have a passion for customer service. You will be expected to work both independently and collaboratively within our team to meet membership goals and generate excitement about our mission. Responsibilities: • Recruit and retain members by engaging visitors and the public, consistently meeting monthly goals, and promoting memberships at checkout to grow gift shop sales. • Deliver a personalized, memorable visitor experience that inspires support for our cause and educates guests on watershed conservation and lasting environmental habits. • Deliver an exceptional, personalized experience for all visitors, ensuring they leave with a positive impression of our campus and are motivated to support our cause. • After training, oversee weekend staff, volunteers, rentals, and customer service operations, using computer systems to process transactions, print reports, and create promotional materials. • Support the design and maintenance of interpretive exhibits, and conduct daily and weekly grounds checks, flagging needed repairs or deviations from facility standards. Qualifications: • At least 2 years of experience in a leadership role, sales, or customer service (preferably in a nature center, museum, or nonprofit environment). • Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to engage a wide range of audiences. • Demonstrated ability to work independently, meet deadlines, and manage multiple tasks effectively. • Proven ability to build relationships, manage customer interactions, and foster a team-oriented work environment. • High-energy, self-motivated, and driven to succeed with a passion for environmental conservation. • Comfortable with point-of-sale systems and membership management platforms. • Ability to think on your feet, handle objections, and creatively promote the program to diverse audiences. • Experience with or an interest in environmental issues, watershed protection, or conservation is a plus. Compensation: $19 - $23 hourly
