Position Title: Area Worship Pastor – Queen Creek/Tempe Campus: Central Support
Reports To: Lead Worship Pastor Status: Full Time, Exempt
Position Summary: The Area Worship Pastor plays a key role in cultivating a thriving worship culture by fostering excellence, connection, and meaningful moments with Jesus. This role provides worship support across campuses and ministries, leads worship, and offers direct guidance to worship leaders, volunteers, and musicians, primarily at the Queen Creek/Tempe Campus.

Responsibilities:
Lead worship onstage a minimum of 46 weekends a year (Holidays included)
Lead at Central campuses as scheduled 3-4 times a month – primarily at Queen Creek/Tempe
In addition to Sunday, stay in regular rotation for CYA and Central Students
Contribute to the planning and execution of weekend services
Contribute in weekend/event song selection
Work closely with other ministry departments to create and execute weekend and holiday
Assist with song arrangements
Contribute to songwriting for Central Music
Lead and develop volunteers at Queen Creek/Tempe
Download and prepare weekend ProPresenter lyric files
Download and prepare weekend Playback arrangements
Recruit, develop, and schedule vocal teams for Queen Creek/Tempe
Assign song leads and keys
Prepare vocal notes for the weekend
Being present in the lobby as much as possible
Own weekend volunteer hospitality
Meeting regularly with volunteers
Help schedule worship for Central Students
Support the vision and direction of Central Christian Church and the Weekend Experience Team, and help create and carry out the vision of the Central Worship ministry under the direction of the Lead Worship Pastor
Participate in “all staff” events
Support other ministries with worship
Other duties as assigned
Knowledge, Skills, and Experience Required:
Must be able to communicate with and inspire a team of creatives
Ability to work independently within scope of assignment; Manages time and prioritizes duties effectively
Ability to work in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment and to be flexible in executing last-minute weekend changes
Ability to work cooperatively as a team member
Ability to sing and speak from stage is required
Experience in a large church is preferred

Physical Requirements: While performing the duties of this job, the employee is occasionally required to stand, walk, sit; use hands to finger handle, or feel objects, tools or controls; reach with hands and arms; climb stairs; balance; stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl; talk or hear; The employee must occasionally lift, carry, push, and pull objects up to fifty pounds. Specific vision abilities required by the job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.
