At Lone Star Cowboy Church, the arena isn’t just where we ride—it’s where we reach people for Christ. We're seeking a full-time Arena Director who is first and foremost a pastor at heart—someone called to disciple others, lead spiritually, and shepherd a team in one of the most unique ministries in our church.

This role is about more than coordinating rodeos or managing schedules. It's about building a Christ-centered community within the arena—raising up leaders, leading Bible studies, offering counsel, and creating space for transformation through the western lifestyle.

As Arena Director, you'll serve as a spiritual leader who also oversees the vision and direction of the Arena Ministry. You won’t be in the weeds of every task or event detail—that's what the team is for—but you will guide the overall strategy, motivate volunteers, and set the spiritual tone. We’re looking for someone who can see the big picture of what God wants to do through this ministry and inspire others to be part of it.

The Right Person for This Role Will Be:

A Shepherd – Able to teach the Word, disciple individuals, lead teams spiritually, and counsel with humility and wisdom.

A Visionary – Someone who can cast vision, rally volunteers, and build momentum around the mission of the Arena Ministry.

A Cowboy – You know this world because you’ve lived it. You have authentic experience in the western lifestyle—whether in rodeo, ranching, or arena management—and can lead with credibility.

    Required Experience:

5+ years of experience in ministry leadership, preferably in a pastoral or discipleship capacity

3+ years of hands-on experience in rodeo, ranching, or arena life

Proven ability to teach the Bible and lead small groups or Bible studies

Demonstrated experience building and developing teams, particularly volunteers

Confident leading others, both spiritually and organizationally

Comfortable overseeing event planning while trusting others to handle logistics

Familiarity with digital tools (Google Suite, Breeze, etc.) and budgeting responsibilities

You’ll have the support of an assistant and volunteers to handle much of the day-to-day work. Your role is to lead with vision, foster a healthy team culture, and ensure that everything happening in the arena is ultimately pointing people to Jesus.

If you’re passionate about Jesus, people, and the cowboy way of life—we’d love to meet you.
