ABOUT THE NETWORK ENGINEER POSITION
Responsible for the network and switching infrastructure and services architecture within Infrastructure Technology group.
This includes core, distribution and edge switch configurations and architecture. Oversees the purchase, installation, and support of network communications, including LAN/WAN systems.
Responsible for evaluating current systems. Assists in the planning of large scale systems projects through vendor comparison and cost studies. Requires thorough knowledge of LAN/WAN systems, networks, and applications.
NETWORK ENGINEER RESPONSIBILITIES ARE:
Organize network maintenance and system upgrades including service packs, patches, hot fixes and security configurations
Install and configure different kinds of network devices and services, including routers, switches, firewalls, load balancers, VPN, QoS and so on
Monitor system performance, ensure it is available and reliable
Monitor system resource utilization, trending, and capacity planning
Ensure the compliance with policies and requirements and troubleshoot any issues
Organize the implementation of security tools, policies, and procedures in conjunction with the company's security team
Work together with vendors and other IT personnel to resolve problems faster
NETWORK ENGINEER REQUIREMENTS ARE:
4-year degree in computer science or related field or equivalent experience.
12+ years experience in network architecture and engineering skills.
Detailed knowledge of WAN Protocols, particularly MPLS. SDWAN exposure/experience preferred.
Detailed knowledge and implementation skills of Cisco's Switching and Routing Knowledge of various Security products.
Detailed understanding of Voice Over IP; experience with Cisco and Avaya VOIP Products.
Detailed knowledge of IP Routing, Quality of Service technologies with demonstrated implementation in a large enterprise organization.
4-year degree in computer science or related field or equivalent experience
Skills with Solarwinds, PRTG and other network management solutions.
CCNP, CCIE or CISSP certification preferred but not required
