Our Irvine, CA client is a newly formed digital arm of a well-established lifestyle brands company. They're looking for a Director of Engineering to own Software Development, DevOps, and Test, building out multiple functional teams that will build products on a software platform to serve 5M+ existing users, growing that number through personalized offerings that leverage Machine Learning and Augmented Reality.
The must-haves:
10+ years of experience in object-oriented programming and architecture
5+ years leading high performing engineering, test and infrastructure teams
Experience with Node.js, Python, Java or Go
A background with microservices architecture on AWS (Amazon Web Services)
Expertise building complex APIs in large scale, high traffic environments
Experience with one or more client-side JavaScript frameworks, i.e. React, Vue.js
IaC (Infrastructure as Code) experience like CloudFormation and Terraform
Containerization / Orchestration experience like Docker and Kubernetes
Exposure to both relational and NoSQL databases
CI/CD experience like GitLab, CircleCI, Jenkins
Bonus points for:
Experience with Lambda and the Serverless Framework
Exposure to GraphQL
IaC (Infrastructure as Code) experience like CloudFormation and Terraform
Experience with Data Science, Machine Learning, Augmented Reality
A Bachelor's degree or above in Computer Science or similar
