AZ Liver Health is looking for qualified candidates to fill their Research Phlebotomist position.

Title: Research Phlebotomist

Status: Full-time, Non-exempt

Salary: $16.00 - $21.00 per hour; depending on experience

Job Summary:

Responsible for phlebotomy procedures in the conduct of clinical research trials with emphasis on the safety and welfare of study participants. Perform the practical activities of clinical studies according to protocol, regulatory requirements, and standard operating procedures.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

• Verifying positive patient identification to ensure subject safety. Assessing subject reactions to specimen
• Performing venipuncture, capillary, and/or IV specimens from study subjects according to established protocol, maintaining aseptic technique. Obtaining additional assistance when judged
• Obtaining specimens according to priority and scheduled draw times. Ensuring completion of specimen collection functions according to protocol. Ensuring that specimens are properly labeled and suitable for
• With supervision, ensures that clinical trials are conducted according to protocol requirements
• Sample management - collection and appropriate chain of custody for all samples obtained
• Provide necessary instructions to research participants
• Completes and keeps up-to-date on role-required
• Maintains safe, secure, and healthy work environment by following standards and procedures; complying with all legal regulations.

Minimum Qualifications:

• Phlebotomy Skills - Minimum of 2-5 years of phlebotomy experience
• Bilingual (Spanish Speaking) preferred
• Technical Assessment skills
• Demonstrates strong analytical, problem solving skills
• Strong written and verbal communication
• Excellent organizational skills with strong attention to detail
• Must be results oriented, multi-tasking, quick learner, respond to the urgent needs of the team and show a strong track record of meeting
• Computer literate with proficiency in Microsoft applications

Education and Experience Required:

• Phlebotomy certificate required
• BS degree preferred
• 2 - < 5 years’ experience with collection and processing of biomaterials

Physical Requirements:

• Must be able to lift at least 20lbs
• Must be able to stand, walk, and sit for long periods of time during the day (up to 25%-30% for each)

Travel Requirements:

• Some travel may be required as needed with the use of company vehicle or mileage reimbursement
