    []

    PRIMARY JOB FUNCTIONS/RESPONSIBILITIES:

    • Provide and protect patient and staff against unnecessary radiation with use of lead aprons and collimation.
    • Ensure proper use of radiation exposure badges of all staff in procedure room.
    • Limit radiation exposure time for all personnel in procedure room
    • Assist patient on procedure table in correct position and take all precautions for patient safety (restraints)
    • Position table/patient and align C-arm for appropriate body part.
    • Operate C-arm for all procedures.
    • Use fluoroscopy when needed under doctors' supervision.
    • Save all procedure images onto disc for storage in patient chart.
    • Record radiation times for each patient
    • Assist staff in procedure room as needed.
    • Maintain supplies and equipment.

    MOST DEMANDING TASKS:

    • Providing optimal patient care and patient safety techniques during all procedures
    • Adequately educating all procedure room staff on radiation protection

    BACKGROUND REQUIRED

    EXPERIENCE:

    • Medical Terminology
    • Universal Precautions
    • Patient Care
    • C-Arm Operation

    EDUCATION:

    • · ASSOCIATES DEGREE OR HIGHER FROM AN ACCREDITED RADIOLOGIC TECHNOLOGY PROGRAM

    REQUIRED CERTIFICATIONS:

    • Current ARRT certification in Radiography
    • Current BLS/CPR certification
    • Current MRTBE certification (AZ State)
