    RETTEW, an employee-owned engineering consulting firm is seeking an experienced Geologist or Engineer to support our clients in the Tri-State area.

     RESPONSIBILITIES:

    • Evaluate landslide and slope failures
    • Develop repair recommendations (including repair design plans and cross-sections)
    • Visit active upstream and midstream construction projects to ensure plan compliance
    • Data management
    • Interpretation of soils, geologic, and hydrogeologic data
    • Effective communication skills (meetings with technical staff, construction management staff, and earthwork contractors)

    REQUIREMENTS:

    • Bachelor of Science in Geology, Engineering or related field
    • Experience in assessing slope failures (landslides) and developing repair concepts
    • Strong written and verbal communication skills
    • Technical writing experience
    • Willingness and ability to travel locally and overnight as necessary

    ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

    • Work as a team member in the installation of mezzanines, modular offices, rack systems, conveyors etc. at assigned project sites.
    • Communicate effectively and work well with crew members in a team environment.
    • Commitment to a safe working environment for oneself and fellow co-workers.
    • Determine required equipment and fabricating methods via established work procedures and apply proper fabricating techniques.
    • Blue print reading a plus. Attention to quality required.
    • Lay out, position, align and secure parts prior to fabricating using prescribed fixtures and proper work procedures.
    • Position and secure work-pieces, using fork lifts, hoists, etc.
    • Recognize, set up, and operate hand and power tools common to the fabricating trade.
    • Detect faulty operation of equipment or defective materials and notify the Foreman.
    • Help load and unload trucks as instructed.
    • Any other job duties assigned, as needed.
