    SCOPE OF POSITION:

    This position is responsible for audiovisual, graphics, photography, layouts of newsletters, creating ads, and producing content created to support AFMC’s marketing and communication goals. The Digital Design Specialist is responsible for brand management and will coordinate across all digital media to ensure that AFMC’s marketing efforts present a consistent and unified message in support of the organization’s goals and objectives.

     

    ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:

    1. Translate concepts, ideas, and objectives into engaging visual elements and designs that appropriately represent specific programs and services while remaining consistent with the broader branding and messaging. While some graphic design work may be outsourced, the position is expected to be highly familiar with graphic design technologies and aesthetics.
    2. Develop and design web projects and virtual projects.
    3. Research and draw from customer experiences to ensure all site enhancements comply to strict usability guidelines and user-centric best practices, keeping compliance in all respects with WCAG 2.0’s AA accessibility standards.
    4. Review, revise, and implement brand standards, as necessary.
    5. Execute top-quality design from concept to delivery by complying with brand standards in execution of marketing materials.
    6. Contribute unique ideas for strategic marketing initiatives for digital products across platforms.
    7. Develop strategies, tactics, and content to drive traffic and implement brand marketing on various social media channels.
    8. Analyze and evaluate return on investment with respect to digital marketing initiatives and use results of research and analysis to tailor outreach initiatives to reach the largest target audience with the most efficient expenditure of resources. This includes providing reports and analytical assessments to management on a regular basis to inform the Company’s digital marketing and outreach strategy.
    9. Proficiency in livestreaming platforms and ability to efficiently provide alternatives for virtual/remote learning.
    10. Evaluate, design, and implement website enhancements as needed.
    11. Provide design support to create product graphics, logos, identity design, or other similar offline graphics to achieve maximum consistency with brand standards.
    12. Collaborate with teammates to conceive ideas and designs, and execute marketing communications content for digital, electronic, website, print, signage, and exhibits.
    13. Ability to design live animation graphics (for instance, through Adobe AfterEffects or the like) where appropriate for use in advancing AFMC’s marketing initiatives in various visual media applications and platforms.
    14. Work with stakeholders to provide advice, analysis, and recommendations for concept, design, art direction, and production of AFMC’s digital marketing initiatives and outreach opportunities. Monitor quality control to ensure that AFMC’s brand is used consistently.
    15. Create regular content and update accordingly on the AFMC website, in its social media outreach, content management system, and intranet following strategic plans and guidelines developed by the communications team.
    16. Collaborate with internal project teams regarding special projects and campaigns to develop strategies and concepts. Identify project requirements and execute action items, timelines and workflows based on those needs.
    17. Work with and as part of the web team to develop and maintain corporate web presence and client websites, as necessary.
    18. Collaborate with staff to define, develop, and deploy compelling user experiences.
    19. Research, produce and edit copy for appropriate target audience and media.
    20. Conduct specialized research requests and handle various other special projects as needed.
    21. Scope and create templates for common use throughout the organization.
    22. Work with communications staff to complete assignments and guarantee timely output of the highest quality from each project.
    23. Manage in-house digital printing output.
    24. Research, plan, implement, and document new operating and production methods and reports.
    25. Make presentations to staff or the public on the development of AFMC graphics materials.
    26. Provide support when needed to staff and other stakeholders regarding AFMC’s communications strategy.
    27. Ensure all activities address designated performance goals, the appropriate target audience, and are performed within designated time frame.
    28. Adhere to format, content, and style guidelines, giving consideration to usability and ensuring accuracy, consistency and quality. Maintain editorial/communication mission.
    29. Communicate needs and requests to other team members as appropriate.
    30. Follow AFMC, state and federal protocols regarding data confidentiality/security and HIPAA compliance.
    31. Perform additional duties as assigned.

     

    PHYSICAL AND SENSORY REQUIREMENTS (WITH OR WITHOUT THE AID OF MECHANICAL DEVICES):

    Mobility, reaching, bending, sitting, standing, speaking in public, lifting up to 25 pounds, grasping, ability to read and write, ability to communicate with personnel in person and via email, and ability to remain calm under stress.     Required Experience

    EDUCATION:

    Required: Bachelor’s degree in digital design, communications, radio/tv/film, digital film or related field.

     

    EXPERIENCE:

    Required: Five (5) years of professional design experience with published samples or a portfolio of previous work. Experience in web marketing/web design with a strong knowledge of HTML, Photoshop, FTP, web design and development principles. Experience in animation is a plus. Familiarity with live production and postproduction elements will assist the candidate in meeting the essential functions of the position. In addition, experience drafting marketing copy, analyzing ROI, and implementing brand standards is necessary. A combination of any of these experiential requirements for five years is sufficient to render the candidate qualified for this position.
