FINANCIAL MANAGER
REPORTS TO: Senior Pastor
DIRECTLY SUPERVISES: The volunteers in the Financial Area
HOURS: 25-30 hours/week; work hours can be negotiated but must be fixed.
FLSA: Exempt
The Finance Manager is responsible for executing and overseeing all financial aspects of ministry at AHUMC.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
*Handle all aspects of accounting for the congregation
*Deposits
*Payment of bills
*Payroll
*Management of bank accounts
*Documentation of financial transactions
*Assist as needed with fund-raising
*Keep track of pledges and contributions to the church and communicate as needed with members of the congregation about their individual giving
*Maintain complete confidentiality regarding contributions, sharing only as needed with Senior Pastor
*Run reports as requested by Senior Pastor or Finance Committee
*Prepare reports for and attend Finance Committee meetings to ensure good communication with the Finance Committee
*Design and implement workflow solutions for internal accounting procedures (i.e. check requests, bank deposits, reimbursement policy, etc.)
*Ensure that Senior Pastor and Finance Committee are aware of current financial situation and projected changes that require attention
*Work with Stewardship Committee on stewardship campaign
*Communicate ministry budget information to relevant church staff
*Assist as needed with Haupt Preschool financials (they have their own bookkeeper)
*Must be able to attain proficiency in the following: ShelbyNext (payroll and accounts payable), Elexio (contributions and membership database), Excel, Word
OTHER RESPONSIBILITIES:
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
Bachelor’s Degree
3 years of financial administrative experience; demonstrated competency in accounting, word processing and database software
2 years of experience in church employment or church leadership preferred

Job Type: Part-time
Pay: $35,000.00 - $40,000.00 per year
COVID-19 considerations: This position has its own office. Cleaning and sanitizing occur regularly. Masking and distancing is currently required in the building.
