    The Arlington Independent School District currently has 78 campuses set in four (4) cities.  Most of the campuses are in the city of Arlington, TX, with seven (7) in Grand Prairie, and two (2) in Dalworthington Gardens.  For the 2017-2018 school year, we will have six (6) traditional high schools, 10 junior high schools (7th-8th grade), 54 elementary schools, and 10 other campuses at various levels (alternative and speciality schools).  We support over 62,000 students in grades PK3 through 12, and have amost 8,500 total employees.  

    The Security Department has a current authorized staffing of 1 personnel for the 2017-2018 school year.  All of our employees work year-round, with various training and special assignment programs during the summer months.  The bulk of our staff works during the day shift on High School campuses, which are supervised by a Security Sergeant and 2-3 Security Corporals.  Each High School campus also has an evening shift Corporal and Campus Security Officer assigned to it.  We also have one (1) Security Corporal at each Junior High, and a total of 22 personnel (Sergeants, Corporals, and Dispatchers) assigned to the Patrol Section that operates 24 / 7 / 365.

    My name is Chris Gent, and I am the administrator responsible for hiring for the Arlington (TX) Independent School District Security Department.  I know this is very long, but please read everything below in detail and follow all instructions for the online interviews.

     
    We hire for the following on an ongoing basis:

    1) Day Shift Campus Security Officer - MT03 Pay Grade - Starting at $13.75 / hour.

    2) Evening Shift Campus Security Officer - 2:00 - 10:30 PM on a High School Campus with Saturday and Sunday off.  Same pay as day shift but with a $0.20 / hour shift differential.

    3) Security Patrol Corporal - MT04 Pay Grade - Starting at $14.70 / hour.  All positions we normally fill from the outside are on evening shift (3:00 - 11:30 PM) or midnight shift (11:00 PM to 07:30 AM).  These positions work on holidays, weekends, etc. and come with a $0.20 / hour shift differential.  **Note that we do not currently have any Patrol Openings**

    Note that while AISD Human Resources can, and usually does, give credit for experience directly related to school security, it is not a guarantee.  Thus, I always tell people to plan for your salary offer to be at the minimum so that you know going in what your income levels will be.  There is almost always some overtime available every week during the school year, and the patrol positions have access to weekly overtime on a year-round basis.

    All of the above are full-time (40 hours / week minimum) positions on a year-round schedule and are eligible for all of the same benefits as every AISD teacher / staff member, to include medical / dental insurance, etc.  The Security Manager will approve your application if you wish to maintain part-time employment elsewhere, but will not approve you to hold two (2) full-time positions.

You should preferably have two (2) supervisors and a co-worker, but at least your current manager and two (2) current co-workers would be acceptable.
