    Barstow, California

    Hours

    Monday through Friday, 7:00 AM – 5:00 PM

    Job Summary

    The Armed Healthcare Security Officer provides safety, security, and protection for patients, staff, visitors, and facility property at a healthcare clinic. The officer is responsible for preventing and responding to security incidents, enforcing safety protocols, protecting confidential information, and maintaining a visible deterrent presence. This is a full‑time armed position operating under California and local laws.

    Key Duties & Responsibilities

    Patrol the clinic grounds—both interior and exterior—regularly and upon request, including parking areas, entrances/exits, waiting areas, restricted and sensitive areas.

    Monitor entry points; verify credentials, screen visitors, patients, and staff as required.

    Respond promptly, professionally, and safely to alarms, emergencies (medical, fire, security), disturbances, or suspicious activity.

    De‑escalate conflicts verbally when possible, using force only as authorized by law and clinic policy.

    Maintain logs and write detailed incident reports, observations, and security activity summaries.

    Respond to medical emergencies to the level of basic first aid/CPR if certified.

    Minimum Qualifications

    Must be 21 years of age or older.

    Valid California Guard Card with armed permit / exposed firearm permit under BSIS.

    Clean background: no disqualifying felony convictions; must pass criminal background check and drug screening.

    High school diploma or GED.

    Valid CA driver’s license (if part of job includes driving).

    Desired Experience & Skills

    Prior experience in healthcare security or law enforcement preferred.

    Strong judgment, ability to remain calm under pressure.

    Knowledge of HIPAA/privacy regulations.

    Familiarity with safety codes, fire safety, emergency protocols.

    Reliability, punctuality, high integrity, willingness to follow chain of command.
