    ROLE PURPOSE:

    The Medical Assistant is a vital member of the clinical team that plays an integral role in providing patient-centered health care. This person is responsible in assisting the provider and the team in the overall coordination, preparation, examination, and treatment of the patient. This person will perform the minimum competency requirement for a medical assistant

    JOB DESCRIPTION:

    MEDICAL ASSISTANT responsibilities include but are not limited to:

    • Reviews patient records prior to the visit
    • Reminds patient of appointments as necessary
    • Identifies if all previous orders were completed
    • Ensures that all necessary reports are in place
    • Reviews gaps in care as necessary
    • Performs check –in duties appropriately and timely
    • Records vital signs and other measurements accurately
    • Updates all information related to meaningful use and client requirements
    • Operates basic medical equipment
    • Documents consistently and appropriately in client systems
    • Communicates with the provider and other members of the team to enhance patient care
    • Regular and reliable on-site attendance is required.
    • Performs other related duties as assigned
    • Provides feedback for quality improvement activities
    • Answers phones within reasonable amount of time and take accurate messages.
    • Any other related duties as assigned

    POSITION REQUIREMENTS

    EDUCATION:

    High School Diploma or equivalent; Current unexpired Medical Assistant Certification.

    EXPERIENCE:

    Previous experience working as a Medical Assistant, preferred but not required. Previous experience with basic computer systems required. Knowledge of basic medical terminology required.

    SKILLS & CERTIFICATIONS:

    • TB Clearance within the past 12 months
    • Valid Driver License
    • Access to an insured vehicle
    • BLS CPR
    • Proof of COVID-19 Vaccination as required by federal mandate or approved request for reasonable accommodation for medical or religious exemption.

    TYPE: Full-Time, Temp-to-Hire; Non- Exempt

    PAY RATE: Competitive based on experience

    SCHEDULE: Various; To be discussed during interview
