    Job Description

    The Logistics Associate will report to the Logistics Process Expert and be based in Albuquerque, NM. The associate will be responsible for assisting Bureau of Indian Education (BIE) Schools and staff members in the NM region, occasionally out of state in lifecycle logistics inventory management operations. This consist of conducting and implementing asset management and inventory control of information technology (IT) equipment, the physical consolidation and disposal of excess IT equipment, and assisting onsite IT representatives with minor computer troubleshooting. Additional functions include providing status reports on IT equipment distribution, receipt, replacement, disposition, and other basic logistics functions.

    Essential Tasks

    • Participate in lifecycle logistics inventory management operations involving receiving, processing, shipping, inventory, and disposals while maintaining a variety of records, orders, proof of deliveries (PODs), files, reports, and records of stock
    • Maintain, review, and update the IT equipment inventory databases for accuracy to include but not limited to laptops, desktops, tablets, printing and scanning devices
    • Able to gather, develop, and present data in charts, graphs, and tables (to give visual representation to trends)
    • Transport equipment to the designated location or appropriate disposal point designated by the Government
    • Must be able to professionally interact regularly with BIE school personnel facilitating quality communication regarding any information necessary for the effective management of logistics operations
    • Must be able to effectively communicate across multiple departments as well as work independently within your assigned team
    • Detail-oriented with strong written communication, problem-solving, analytical, and organizational skills.
    • Assist school IT representatives with the installation of Government-furnished software and hardware
    • Experienced in MS Excel, MS Word, MS Access, and SQL + query capability preferred
    • Perform other logistics duties as assigned by the supervisor

    Basic Qualifications

    • US Citizenship Required
    • High school diploma or equivalent
    • Single Scope Background Investigation (SSBI) Clearance is required, as minimum
    • Two (2) years of experience in Logistics/Inventory control
    • Basic understanding of IT logistics processes with the ability to read, understand and follow written instruction
    • Understand simple numeric concepts and research alphanumeric equipment numbers
    • Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals

    Preferred Qualifications

    • College degree, technical preferred
    • Any Information Technology certification, for example, the CompTIA A+ or Sec+
    • Basic understating of networks (stand-alone versus server/client) and establishing the initial setup for servers and switches for multi-cast reimaging

    Physical Requirements

    • The ability to frequently travel via car and occasionally via plane, including overnight stays up to 40% of the time
    • No unusual physical requirements. Requires minimal lifting to 30 lbs. and the occasional use of common household tools.
