    Job Description:

    The Senior Systems Engineer shall provide support to perform the routine tasks required to support system administration requirements to meet the video teleconferencing requirements.

    This position provides technical support for the ordering, management, and service-wide coordination of videoconferencing. This would include direct participation in the operation of the videoconferencing facilities at two government locations.

    The Senior Systems Engineer and supporting staff provide nationwide support for an enterprise VTC Infrastructure which is comprised of mostly Polycom equipment.

    Additionally, this position will provide support to perform the routine tasks required to support system administration requirements for the ongoing support of the Video-Teleconferencing Services hardware and software.

    Responsibilities:

    • Comply with Service Level Agreements
    • Comply with all DOI and NPS Security Protocols
    • Creating, editing, and monitoring scheduled tasks
    • User management (add/delete/role management)
    • Monitoring system performance
    • System Tuning
    • Monitor for, Report and analyze anomalies
    • Assist in Tier 1/2/3 support issues
    • Documentation of processes/configurations
    • Configure and maintain systems to perform auditing and logging
    • Patch Management and Vulnerability mitigation
    • In-depth knowledge with video teleconferencing equipment and support, video teleconferencing and transport design, video teleconferencing implementation, and remote management
    • Creating, editing, and generating end user training documents for new systems

    Education and Experience:

    • Bachelor’s Degree and four years relevant experience or Master’s Degree
    • Three years relevant experience or six years relevant experience.
    • Industry recognized technical certification accepted in lieu of two years of experience.
    • IT or consulting experience with a preferred focus on IT security policies, architectures, and/or standard operating procedures, or experience in an information security or information assurance role and direct experience with information security and delivering RMF and security assessment activities in accordance with NIST SP 800-37 (as amended).
    • Complete knowledge and working experience in the technical security assessment of IT systems, network infrastructures, and industrial control systems.
    • Thorough knowledge of standard methodologies used in A&A process.
    • Must have detailed experience in NIST A&A/RMF guidelines and industry best practices for: Risk Assessment and Management, Vulnerability Analysis, Contingency Planning/Disaster Recovery, Coexpernfiguration Management, Security Assessments, and developing Mitigation Plans.
    • Must have experience conducting technical security assessments of complex information systems with minimal to no supervision.
