Job Title: Educational Innovation Coach
Location: Remote – Travel up to 50%
Job Description: The Educational Innovation Coach holds a pivotal role in supporting educators and students in discovering and integrating educational technology effectively into the curriculum, fostering a dynamic and engaging learning environment in support of the Bureau of Indian Education (BIE).
The BIE provides support for the education of Native American Indian children in grades K-12 throughout 183 BIE-managed and Tribally-controlled schools, and two Native American colleges. The Strategic Transformation of Education Plan (STEP) is an initiative to provide support and resources for students, teachers and BIE-managed and Tribally-controlled schools.
The ideal candidate should possess a master’s degree, a background in education, and a profound understanding of emerging educational concepts and instructional technology. The successful candidate will lead training initiatives, contribute to technology planning, and establish collaborative relationships with faculty and staff across multiple schools.
Key Responsibilities:
- Educational Technology Discovery and Education:
- Maintain knowledge of current and emerging educational technologies and concepts.
- Foster a culture of collaboration and continuous improvement through workshops, seminars, and professional development opportunities focused on digital learning strategies.
- Assist in selecting appropriate educational technology tools, software, and platforms, providing insights into the most effective solutions for enhancing the learning experience.
- Technology Planning Support:
- Develop a working plan with BIE and School leadership using the Train-the-Trainer model to create digital leadership in each school.
- Stay current with emerging trends and best practices in educational technology, sharing insights and recommendations with faculty to drive informed technology adoption decisions.
- Build and nurture relationships with educators, administrators, and stakeholders to understand their goals and requirements, tailoring technology integration solutions accordingly.
- Collaborate with the curriculum development team to create innovative technology-enhanced learning materials and resources aligned with educational objectives.
- Monitor and evaluate the impact of technology integration on student engagement and learning outcomes, collecting and analyzing data to inform future strategies.
- Participate in regular meetings and collaborative planning sessions to align technology initiatives with educational goals and institutional priorities.
- Guide and support schools in the development of a school-designed educational technology plan.
- Educational Technology Classroom Integration:
- Collaborate with educators and curriculum specialists to seamlessly integrate technology into the educational process, enhancing teaching and learning experiences.
- Lead training sessions on the effective use of educational technologies for educators, ensuring a high level of digital fluency and comfort.
- Provide personalized coaching and support to educators in implementing technology-rich teaching strategies, addressing their specific needs and challenges.
Qualifications:
- Master’s degree in education, Instructional Technology, or a related field.
- A minimum of 10 years of teaching experience in a K-12 educational setting with a proven track record of successful technology integration.
