    Job Description

    We are seeking a dynamic, experienced, and knowledgeable Brand Artist and Asset Manager with games and interactive content experience to join our UP&E Gaming & Digital Platforms Team. This exciting role is responsible for visual guidance, ideation, and art guidelines for many of the most well-known entertainment bands in the NBCUniversal portfolio. This role will be supporting the team responsible for all video games and interactive content.

    The right candidate will bring industry-leading craft expertise, attention to detail, and a passion for visual storytelling. This person should have a solid understanding of character development, world-building, environment art, UI/UX, and can translate these skills across various digital mediums using the latest industry tools. We are a technology-driven organization, and this candidate will be expected to incorporate proprietary toolsets and 3d scanning into their ideation stage to support the art pipelines.

    Salary range: $85,000 -105,000 (bonus eligible)

    Qualifications

    ** Responsibilities include:**

    • Manage art-related asset approvals and provide art direction as needed across multiple games and digital content in the NBCUniversal portfolio
    • Ensure games are “on-brand,” visually beautiful, functional, and meet the quality standards of the IP
    • Act as the internal art stakeholder and team expert who makes sure the finished game fulfills team, studio, and company goals
    • Create and present project concepts and artistic vision to the department
    • Manage the day-to-day partner process, providing hands-on feedback, “paint overs,” and concept ideation
    • Work collaboratively with brand creative and character art teams to facilitate and provide feedback on partner assets
    • Develop strong relationships and partnerships with key business groups across the company including Production, Marketing, Franchise Management, Technology and Publishing
    • Stay up to date with the latest art trends and toolsets through research and implementation of new techniques and processes

    ** Qualifications/Requirements:**

    • 5+ years experience in 2D and 3D art on franchise games and interactive production teams, including shipped product—ideally from pre-production through launch and live ops
    • Shipped AAA and AA titles from established IP while in a character art or environment art role. Experience in Mobile, VR, and AR is a plus.
    • Specific hands-on experience with mobile game UI/UX and technical art challenges
    • Strong interpersonal and relationship-building skills
    • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
    • Receptive to critique and feedback
    • Solid project management skills and excellent knowledge of various project management methodologies, tools, and practices
    • Strong process knowledge, attention to detail, organizational skills and timely follow-up with the ability to stay focused on art direction
    • Good cross-disciplinary communications experience between marketing, production, design, and art
    • Must have strong games market knowledge and work with the team on innovation and tool development
    • Must be career focused on video games with a solid understanding of theatrical and television content
    • Portfolio of professional design work (fully or largely created solely by the applicant, AI-generated art not accepted) that demonstrates character and environment development, UI/UX design, creativity, and art direction expertise.

    ** Additional Requirements:**

    • Travel may be required
    • Perform other related duties as assigned to support the needs of the team
    • Hybrid: This position has been designated as hybrid, generally contributing from the office a minimum of three days per week.

    ** Desired Characteristics:**

    • A degree from a four-year college, with a preference for an advanced degree
    • Ability to work hands-on implementing art in-game, in-engine, for concept prototypes
