✨ Position Summary
The Art Manager at Kidlavie Nebraska is responsible for creating a vibrant, imaginative, and safe visual environment for our family entertainment and indoor playground space. This role oversees all mural work, creative installations, themed décor, and coordination with artists or contractors. The Art Manager ensures that every part of the facility reflects the Kidlavie brand — colorful, fun, and inspirational for children and families.
🧩 Key Responsibilities
🎨 Creative Direction & Execution
Design and oversee murals, wall art, and creative installations
Maintain and update existing murals and décor as needed
Develop new visual concepts in line with the Kidlavie brand
Review and approve work by external muralists and contractors
🛠️ Project Management
Manage all art-related projects including planning, budgeting, material sourcing, and timelines
Coordinate with contractors, mural painters, and vendors
Ensure installations are completed safely and outside peak guest hours
Document project progress with before/after photos
🔍 Quality & Safety Oversight
Ensure all materials and installations meet playground safety standards
Use non-toxic, child-safe paint and supplies
Inspect art features regularly for wear, peeling, or damage
Schedule prompt repairs to maintain a safe and inviting environment
📦 Inventory & Supplies
Manage inventory of supplies including paint, brushes, equipment, and décor
Request restocking as needed and maintain organized storage
👥 Team & Collaboration
Lead and supervise assistant artists or temporary mural contractors
Collaborate with the General Manager and Play Supervisors
Prepare design drafts and concepts for approval
Support holiday themes, birthday rooms, and special event décor
📚 Qualifications
Required
Proven experience as an Art Manager, Mural Artist, Illustrator, or similar role
Strong portfolio of large-scale art or mural work
Ability to sketch, design, and execute creative concepts
Knowledge of safe, commercial-quality art materials
Strong project and time management skills
Ability to work early mornings or evenings for installations
Preferred
Experience in children’s museums, family entertainment centers, playgrounds, or themed environments
Experience supervising contractors or creative teams
Basic construction or set-building skills
