    SUMMARY The SharePoint Administrator provides expert-level support for SharePoint, Internet Information Services (IIS), and Web services. Specific responsibilities vary by location, but in general, are responsible for maintaining all aspects of an enterprise SharePoint website, ensuring that mission-critical resources are always available when needed.

    ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

    The SharePoint Administrator is responsible for developing program specifications, script and query creation, coding of program procedures and development and execution of test plans as needed for website development.  They provide continuity to the entire Embassy SharePoint website, including aspects of programming, development, design, and database integration to include developing graphic design to support interactive content; develop multimedia and QuickTime applications.

    Meet with Embassy sections to consult with staff regarding development and maintenance of Agency/section SharePoint web pages, providing design and technical support in updating department page content as new trends and programs are developed.

    Train identified content owners in the use of web conversion tools and applications and maintain regular contact with agency/sections and contacts to advise and train on developing web-based applications and programs.  Provide comprehensive on-the-job training for locally employed staff members and assist in their professional development in the full range of administrator skills and duties.

    Establish systems to monitor website users, and analyze a variety of data including number of user visits, paths utilized, and time spent on each site; evaluate user trends and recommend modifications to provide on-going improvement of the district's website.

    Participate in a variety of work groups, committees and social media task forces to design, develop and implement web-based applications to promote Embassy programs and objectives, assisting in the development, maintenance, and control of standards for centralized relational data base information and its usage.

    Perform design and programming to ensure database security, integrity, and availability.

    Participate in the development of the proposal, design, programming, and implementation phases of administrative applications added to the data base system.  Develop, design, and write necessary programs and documentation to provide for backups, reloads, recovery, timely updates, and restructuring of the database systems.

    SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS

    • Substantial knowledge in current Microsoft SharePoint webpage software developer applications and tools
    • FTP/HTTP concepts and technologies.
    • Troubleshooting strategies for PC platforms and various Internet browsers and versions.
    • Accepted design concepts, Graphical User Interface and W3C and ADA standards.
    • Project management methodologies and concepts.
    • File size and image compression issues.
    • Graphic creation and manipulation tools.
    • Technical aspects of field of specialty.
    • Oral and written communication skills.

    EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

    • Bachelor’s Degree with a minimum of 5 years’ experience or 13 years job related experience in lieu of education
    • Microsoft Certified Solutions Expert: SharePoint
    • Microsoft Certified Solutions Expert: SharePoint Applications

    OTHER REQUIREMENTS

    • CLEARANCE LEVEL REQUIRED:  Secret
