Industry Engagement/Outreach and Strategic Communications Analyst
The Office of the Deputy Assistant Secretary of Defense for Industrial Policy (INDPOL) seeks to ensure robust, secure, resilient, and innovative industrial capabilities upon which the Department of Defense (DoD) can rely to fulfill Warfighter requirements.
INDPOL is the principal advisor to the USD(A&S) on all matters related to the defense industrial base, including developing DoD policies and procedures; providing advice associated with the health of the industrial base; improving industrial capabilities to meet planned, ongoing, current and future defense requirements; conducting antitrust reviews of mergers, acquisitions, teaming, and joint ventures; monitoring financial markets; reviewing the national security impact of foreign ownership of U.S. industrial facilities; and preserving essential industries and technologies and other industry and program activities.
This individual will help facilitate dialogue between the DoD and the industrial base, to improve collaboration and communication within the domestic and global industrial base. Support will involve a wide range of activities, to include:
Support for INDPOL leadership of domestic and international engagements with industry partners
Facilitating government-to-government industrial policy discussions with other agencies and international partners
Developing written communications products such as such as speeches, talking points, press releases, fliers, articles, and conference read-ahead materials
Coordinating meetings, speaking engagements, and other outreach efforts
Managing INDPOL website outreach, including information presented, links, layout, functionality, and content
SKILLS & EXPERIENCE
The following skills and experience are required for this position:
Must have minimum of a SECRET clearance
Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
Works under general supervision; typically interfaces with the manager, team members and all levels of staff.
Demonstrated ability to plan, organize and lead projects
Demonstrated ability to conceptualize and develop solutions, to formulate problem statements conducive to application of analytical methods, and to develop analysis methods and approaches
Demonstrated ability to identify and/or design alternative solutions to problems, processes, or procedures and to analyze and provide recommendations on the impacts and effects of alternative solutions or courses of action
PREFERRED KNOWLEDGE & EXPERIENCE
Prior experience and/or knowledge of government contract acquisition processes
Prior experience and/or knowledge of DoD Industrial Policy
EDUCATION & YEARS OF EXPERIENCE
Master's degree in a related discipline and two to four (2-4) years experience developing DoD strategic communications and/or performing engagement/outreach with the private sector; OR Bachelor's Degree in a related discipline and five to seven (5-7) years' similar professional experience.
