  • Responsibilities

    Job Description

    • Reports controlled substance forms needed promptly to charge nurse.
    • Accurately and safely prepares and administers oral, ophthalmic, optic, nasal, rectal, and topical medications prescribed by the physician.
    • Verifies the identity of the resident before administering medication or treatment; checks the medication three times before administering for correct resident, drug, and dosage, form, route, and accurate time and frequency (e.g. 1 hour after meals)
    • Ensures that all medications administered are properly labeled.
  • Qualifications

    Qualifications

    • One (1) year experience as a Certified Geriatric Nursing Assistant
    • Current State of Maryland Medicine Aide Certification
    • Current State of Maryland Geriatric Nursing Assistant Certification
