JOB SUMMARY
Housekeeper is responsible for making sure all assigned areas of the hotel are clean, neat, and tidy. This includes any indoor household cleaning and organizing tasks assigned by the executive housekeeper and may regularly include cleaning projects. This position reports to the Head Housekeeper.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Dusting and polishing furniture and fixtures
- Cleaning and sanitizing toilets, showers/bathtubs, countertops, and sinks
- Making beds and changing linens
- Washing windows
- Vacuuming and cleaning carpets and rugs
- Steaming floors
- Cleaning sidewalks and all work area
- Cleaning and tidying housekeeping carts
- Deep cleaning projects as assigned
EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Basic knowledge of cleaning and customer service
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITY
- Planning, time management and organizational skills
- Must be able to communicate and follow directions
- Ability to organize work load and complete assigned task within scheduled hours
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
- Must be able to move, stand and bend long periods of time
- Must be able to lift up to 30lbs
- Must function independently, have flexibility, personal integrity and the ability to work effectively with the residents and staff
WORK ENVIRONMENT
- Works in all areas of the facility
- Moves intermittently during working hours
- Is subject to frequent interruptions and may need to reschedule cleaning activities.
- Works beyond normal working hours, on weekends and holidays when necessary, as well as in other positions as needed
- Attends and participates in continuing educational programs
- Communicates with housekeeping staff and other department staff
