Job Description

Central Illinois Home Furnishings, parent company for Ashley Furniture Home Stores in Springfield, Jacksonville, and Quincy, IL is looking for an accounts payable/accounts receivables coordinator who can handle general accounting, accounts payable, and accounts receivable. Key responsibilities include:

Ensuring daily accounting tasks are completed in a timely and orderly fashion; ensure proper procedures with the customer service office personnel; purchase office supplies according to budget; prepare payroll utilizing current applications.

Also: Confirming and checking accuracy of bills and invoices; voucher each bill/invoice; pay bills in a timely manner; file and scan invoices and receipts after payment; handle issues with vendors; complete refunds to customers.

In addition: Oversee and evaluate customer accounts; make corrections as needed utilizing debit and credit reports; reconcile daily bank deposit; track returns and charges with sales; complete daily financial report and prepare other financial statements.

An applicant should have basic knowledge and use of a General Ledger, Excel spreadsheets, 10-key, and have the ability to work independently in a confidential manner with sensitive information. The ability to work an occasional Saturdays is beneficial.

We are also interested in, but not limited to, a candidate with a degree and experience in accounting.

Salary will be based on experience of the candidate.
